I am firmly at that stage in my life where my go-to outfit for a date night is jeans and a nice top. Unfortunately, during the summer, I am too hot to wear jeans and I don’t think denim shorts would have quite the same smart casual effect, so I am always on the lookout for a dress that suits my figure. I struggle a little as I am fairly curvy around my hips and bum but totally flat up top and I also have quite a wide back, so some dresses just won’t fit properly.
When Ed and I recently headed out for a meal, I remembered a dress I had bought previously from New Look and it turned out to be the perfect outfit to showcase my new shorter, blonder hair, courtesy of the Simone Thomas salon in Westbourne, and the loveliest necklaces from Daisy London.
I am self-conscious about my stomach and hips and this dress is flattering whilst highlighting my long legs and creating the illusion of a slightly bigger bust too. New Look is still my favourite place to shop, having worked in a local store for a few years as a teenager, and although this exact dress is no longer available, they have a similar one currently on their website, which I am tempted to buy!
My heels are also New Look – I love the classic strappy black sandal, and the bow at the back of these gives them a little something extra.
I picked out the two layered necklaces from Daisy London as I thought they would go perfectly together, and I am not disappointed. I have always loved amethyst, and the crown chakra sparkle design with the cubic zirconia in the middle really compliments the gemstone, adding to the outfit whilst being dainty and feminine.
My hair was blow dried with a beachy wave to finish by James at Simone Thomas Westbourne, following a cut and a colour by his colleague Sophie.
As a mum of three, my self-esteem is sometimes lacking, but this outfit had me feeling fantastic. I would definitely recommend a break from your comfort zone to shake things up a little for a date night.
Accessories and makeup gifted and my hair was part of an existing relationship with the salon, all words and images are my own.
