New Look Spring/Summer Essentials

Features gifted items

I have always been a huge fan of New Look. My first proper job was as a retail assistant in the Bournemouth branch aged 16, and the 50% staff discount meant almost all of my pay went straight back into the store. New Look, for me, have always offered affordable, high quality clothing, which suit my smart/casual style perfectly, and I was beyond excited to be sent a selection of items from them recently. In the interest of full disclosure, I picked the items and was sent them but without any obligation at all to post. I am doing so because I love the brand and the clothes I selected so much, I couldn’t not post about them.

The British weather is always a bit hit and miss but, as we head further into May, I am hopeful that the warm weather will continue and I will get the chance to wear these Spring/Summer pieces. I selected items which I could mix and match to create a capsule wardrobe for the season, and I am really happy with how they look on.

The Patterned Midi-Skirt

I am in love with this Black Spot Button Ruffle Wrap Midi Skirt. Now in my thirties, I don’t feel comfortable or confident wearing short skirts, so mid length options are brilliant. This design goes with so many different colours, whilst being floaty enough to dress up or down. I have paired it with both the white body and flat sandals and the red cami and black heels, and it looks lovely with both.

The White Body

This White V Neck Bodysuit is so versatile and looks lovely with the patterned skirt and jewelled sandals for lunchtime drinks with friends. It would also work with jeans and a blazer or underneath a pinafore dress. The material is so soft and comfortable too and it is really reasonably priced at just £9.99.

The Cross Body Leopard Print Bag

This Brown Leather Leopard Print Cross Body Bag is just the right size to carry the essentials – lipstick, phone, purse and sunglasses and adds a little something extra to an outfit. I love how it looks with the white cami and pattered skirt.

The Jewelled Sandals

I used to have a really nice jewelled pair of sandals from New Look which eventually broke after several summers. I have been on the hunt for a new pair for ages and love these simple leather jewelled versions. The Leather Strap Diamante and Bead Sandals also come in different colours, if you prefer something a little different, but this classic black pair go with everything.

The Red Cami

I have been obsessed with New Look’s simple cami tops for ages. They look lovely with a maxi skirt or pair of jeans, and can easily be smartened up with a blazer and heels for the evening. I love how the patterned skirt looks with this Red Lattice Back Cami, but it would also work with black jeans and a statement necklace.

The Black Strappy Heels

I absolutely love these Black Suedette Bow Back Stiletto Sandals. I am not a huge fan of my feet and usually shy away from thin strappy styles like this but the cute bow detail at the back swung it for me and I feel so feminine wearing the heels. Total princess shoes (and also available in red).

The Summer Dress

I live in summery dresses when the weather gets warmer, and this pretty Blue Cowl Neck Slip Dress looks lovely on. It is really flattering on my mum tum, and I know I will be wearing this a lot over the next few months. It can be dressed up with a blazer and heels, or down with oversized knits and sandals. Such a versatile style and only £22.99.

The Rainbow Drop Earrings

These Rainbow Premium Gem Drop Earrings are gorgeous! I am a huge fan of rainbows at the moment, they bring so much colour to an outfit, and these drop earrings are so different to anything I own. I love that they add a little splash of colour, without being over the top.

I was also sent a pair of black skinny jeans and a gorgeous glittery top, which I also love and will be fantastic with the black heels for meals and drinks this season.

I was sent the items featured in this post by New Look PR Team, however I was under no obligation to post. All words are my own. Photos of me wearing the clothes taken by Kaye Ford – Fordtography.
