I feel like I haven’t done one of these chatty update posts in a while, as I’m used to just writing them on my Instagram captions and, to be completely honest, my life has been going at 100mph for the past few months anyway. So, without further ado, this is what is new in my life right now…
Back in July I applied for a job at a luxury hotel chain, with hotels all across the country, and a head office based just half an hour from me, in Christchurch. I went for two interviews and I got the job! I handed in my notice back in August, and I started my new job as Digital Content Creator in the marketing department of the company, a few weeks ago. It has been a crazy few weeks, and I feel like I have been there longer – the team are all so lovely, and I have got stuck in, with a few site visits already under my belt. I am doing what I love, and I am excited to head into work each day.

As my new job is full time, the children now have a childminder who takes them and picks them up from school, and Bella has a lovely dog walker, who takes her out in the middle of the day. It took a bit of getting used to, changing the routine, but everybody is settled now and happy, and I must admit, I don’t miss the school run one bit |(although the commute to and from work is equally mundane).
I have lots of little trips and events planned over the next couple of months, which I am really looking forward to. I was a little jealous of people heading abroad this summer, but to be honest, I don’t think I would feel confident just yet, so I am quite happy heading off on little UK staycation adventures instead, like my recent trip to the Cotswolds – it was an amazing few days.

I joined a virtual book club last month, so I have been trying to make more time for reading – not an easy feat with everything else going on, but something I really enjoy doing. I have also continued pole dancing, and I love my weekly class, where I get to push myself a little further, and learn new skills, all in lovely company too. I was being really good at working out too, but I have lapsed recently due to being so tired from the new job, but hopefully as I get more settled, I can get back into my daily routine, as I really feel it helps with my mental health.

Although I haven’t had much time for TV lately, I did manage to watch 9 Perfect Strangers on Prime. My mum and I had previously read the book, so it was good to compare the two together each week, and I enjoyed the ending – make sure you check it out! I am excited that American Horror Story is also back, as I am a big fan of the show (apart from Apocalypse, as it set off my anxiety about confined spaces and I couldn’t finish watching it). This one is apparently set in the same house as the first series, but with a different family as the focus – perfect October viewing!
Autumn is always really busy for me, as I have the three kids’ birthdays in September, October and November, then Christmas in December. I also now have Bella’s birthday in November too, so it will be even more manic! I suffer with seasonal affective disorder (SAD), so I have a bit of a love hate relationship with this time of year, as I can get really down as the nights get longer, and there is less sunshine and blue skies.

I think that’s about it for now, but I hope to get back to writing more regular updates, as well as some more blog posts in general, as I get used to my new workload!
