I am a bit of a novice when it comes to art, but I really enjoy the process of shopping for and adding different prints to my home. I have previously worked with Desenio, and have lots of their prints up around the house, so I was excited to choose some more to give my room a little refresh for autumn.
The Desenio website is so easy to navigate, and has lots of handy tools to help you choose what works best for you, perfect if you don’t really have much of an eye for interiors like me! I love the function that allows you to see how your chosen prints will look as a gallery wall, before you decide whether to order them. I also find it helps me to know which way round to place prints when I am buying wall art, as I can see how everything will look beforehand, and be more confident in my choices.
When it comes to the prints I like, I tend to go for pieces that speak to me, rather than following any specific aesthetic. I am a big fan of a motivational quote, and I really like pairing these prints up with an image that fits, like this ‘Don’t Grow Up, It’s a Trap‘ quote with the stunning black and white print of Marilyn Monroe. The pop of pink really works, and it has given my home desk a much needed freshen up for the new season.

I like to utilise the search function on the Desenio website, to find prints that are relevant to the things that I love, for example, I am a big fan of feathers, after losing my grandad when I was twelve, and I had to get myself the gold feather print when I saw it. Not every print has to be so explicit though, sometimes I simply like how a design looks, and I get it to add to my collection. This is what happened with the pineapple print, which totally brightens up the room, even when the weather is dreary – hello UK in October.
Although I haven’t been surfing myself (yet, anyway), my happy place is the sea, and this print really caught my eye when I was looking for images featuring the coast. Self Care and being kind to yourself is important to me, and I like that this print makes me feel at peace when I look at it. Desenio allow you to choose a frame for your print, when you add it to your basket, and I really appreciate that it shows you how each frame will look around your chosen print, before you make a decision. I generally go for black or gold frames, but for this one I opted for a white frame, as I think it makes the colours stand out more.
My final print of this order was this absolutely stunning Lavender field shot, which I got in a bigger size, so that it could make a real feature on my bedroom wall, catching the light from the windows each morning. I am not a huge flower person, but the colours in this print are gorgeous, bringing a smile to my face each time I see it.
