I know Christmas won’t be the same as it has been before, but I am still looking forward to getting into the festive spirit over the next few weeks. Having lived in Bournemouth since I was a child, and having the opportunity to visit quite a few local restaurants during December as a local blogger, I know where I would like to go now that we are able to go out again, for the time being at least.
Here are some spots I would recommend to celebrate Christmas in Bournemouth (I have attempted to check that the places I mention are all still open and trading in the run up to Christmas, but with the uncertainty of 2020, I apologise if anything changes since the post goes live).
The Coconut Tree

Ed and I are big fans of The Coconut Tree and even managed to enjoy it at home during the last lockdown, using their click and collect service. Their festive menu sounds incredible (I need me some of those Devilled Pigs in Blankets – yum), and it is firmly on our list of places to go for date night, if the rules change and we can have the children looked after whilst we go out for a meal.
The Real Greek

I think The Real Greek is my favourite restaurant at the moment. I am obsessed with their Halloumi fries and have to go for them on every visit, although the souvlaki wrap is a close second. They have a festive menu including some classics from their main menu, priced from £18.95pp for 2 courses.
Ojo Rojo

Another great local place to visit is Ojo Rojo, and their festive food package sounds perfect with a glass of bubbly, bespoke menu of 3 – 4 waves of Mexican tapas and a sharing dessert board to finish. Off to book a table now!
The Stable

We haven’t actually been to The Stable in so long, thanks to lockdown and the general joy that has been 2020, but we need to rectify that. Their festive menu sounds so good, and for £20 per person, you can have a festive special pizza, dessert and cider tasting board.
Backyard Apres Ski

Backyard has been transformed for Christmas and oh.my.word it looks so cool! I am a sucker for festive lights and decorations and am going to need to make a trip to taste their ski themed snacks including stuffing balls and pigs in blankets, plus they have turkey and pulled pork burgers, crepes and Christmas cocktails!
