Press Visit
It’s always nice to enjoy good food in a beautiful setting, so I was pleased to be invited along to lunch with the Bournemouth Bloggers at Riverside at The Coventry Arms on a sunny Saturday afternoon recently. The venue has had some renovations done and I was nicely surprised by how spacious and gorgeous this quaint countryside pub hides behind its roadside exterior.
We were treated to a drink of our choice before heading back to the conservatory area, which is filled with natural daylight and an Instagrammer’s dream to photograph in. I love how clean and fresh the space was, with some quirky art deco features that show the character of the owners and bring a little something to the atmosphere.
This indoor space leads out to the extensive garden, with plenty of outdoor seating for al fresco dining once the weather finally starts to warm up. This area leads right down to the river, providing a beautiful backdrop for our pictures as we lounged in the egg chairs right on the riverside. I can see this area being extremely popular in the summer months, for good reason!
After exploring the outside area, we headed back in to our table, where we ordered from the main a la carte menu (their lunch menu is only available weekdays but we were more than happy to choose from an extensive selection of main dishes, everything looked so good it was hard to choose)!
In the end I went for the Sea Bass Curry, which was absolutely gorgeous, so fresh, so tasty and presented beautifully. It was up there with one of the nicest meals I’ve eaten and I don’t usually opt for a fish dish – I am a convert. The rest of the food looked amazing too, I don’t eat shellfish but Kelle’s Seafood Tagliatelle looked particuarly delectable. There’s a wide choice of steaks on offer too, but Ewelina’s Classic Tournedos Rossini was a firm favourite.

Some of us chose to get an extra cocktail at the bar and we had a lovely chilled afternoon sat catching up with each other in our little sun trap, it was the perfect way to spend a spring Saturday afternoon. Thanks so much for having us! With plenty of entertainment planned throughout the summer months, and a live music schedule, I definitely recommend checking out Riverside at The Coventry Arms if you are local to Corfe Mullen, or visiting the area this summer.

We were invited along to Riverside at The Coventry Arms, however all words and images are my own.
