Even Angels Fall 2.0

I have been meaning to make some changes to this blog for quite some time and have always chickened out of it, thinking I should just stick with what I know, but turning 30 last year made me reassess my life a little and I don’t want to have any regrets. Life is too short not to do what you love, so I am finally making some changes, albeit eight months later, and making 2020 the year that I put myself first.

I feel like, in many ways, I have been drifting for the past few years, not sure of myself or where I want to be. I spent the last decade having children and being a mother, and, although that isn’t going to change and I don’t want it to, I do want to remind myself that I am a woman as well as a mum, and it is important to have a life outside of parenthood. The new year has given me the push I needed to have a slight rebrand of my blog and social media channels, to reflect my focus on finding myself. I am not really into the wellness movement, although I love the concept behind it, so instead I will be focusing on what makes me feel good and going from there.

The areas of my life I will be focusing on are beauty and skincare, health and fitness, style, and exploration, and these will be my main focus when writing blog posts. Alongside this, I also want to write in depth about both wedding planning and blog writing, as these are my two key subjects that I feel I am able to provide advice and tips on. I am really excited to put out some content in these areas, and to also speak publicly about these topics locally.

I want to be totally honest and open with my journey, so expect a little more rawness to my writing and photos. I am going to be sharing images of myself before, during and after, including thoughts and feelings and results. This isn’t just about losing weight or toning up, although I am hoping to do both along the way. It is also about finding my personal style, working on improving my skincare, feeling good about myself and having the drive and confidence I have been missing lately.

I will hold my hands up and admit that, although I have written about beauty and style before, I have not been 100% sure of myself, or about what works for me. One of the first things I want to do is talk to some experts about these areas, have a personal stylist session, have some skincare and makeup trials and hopefully find the products that will work for me and make me feel great about myself again. I love makeup, but I am awful at applying it. I want to learn the tips and tricks, and then pass them on to you, my readers.

When it comes to food and fitness, I want to know what will work for me and what I enjoy. I have failed in the past because I have done things that haven’t worked for me, or that are too ambitious to keep up long term. I am going to be looking into what will fit around my life, and what I will enjoy doing, and I am going to be documenting my progress.

Alongside all of this, I will be working on my blog theme and a logo in the coming weeks to reflect this new approach, but for now I just wanted to get it down in writing what I am doing. I am really excited for these changes, and I hope you will enjoy the direction my blog is going in…
