I love food, and one of my favourite things to do is go out for a meal. Bournemouth has a huge amount of restaurants, with plenty of different cuisines available to choose from. These are five of my current favourite places to eat.
The Real Greek
Ever since my visit to The Real Greek earlier this year I’ve been lusting over their halloumi fries. I also loved how sociable our meal was – you can pick and choose mezzo dishes, which you can then choose to share amongst your group for a totally relaxed and informal dining experience. Their prosecco was pretty delicious too, and the cheesecake was incredible. I cannot wait to go back.
I have been to Las Iguanas a handful of times now, and it is fast becoming my favourite restaurant. We headed their for a review visit just before Christmas, and I had a limited edition dish (Cha Cha Chorizo) which was amazing – I so wish they had made it a regular on the menu.
We last had a meal here for Mother’s Day, and they had a fantastic deal where the mums got a free glass of cava, and the children’s meals were just £1 (with each paying adult). When I heard they have started doing a bottomless brunch with unlimited prosecco, I got very excited!
If there was one food I could eat for the rest of time it would be pizza. I love it. There are plenty of places around Bournemouth that make delicious pizzas, but The Stable in Bournemouth are my current faves. Their toppings are so nice and fresh, and the base is nice and thin, meaning I don’t get full up after only a couple of slices. I’m not a huge cider fan, but Ed is and he loves the tasting boards they do. We’ve also done a couple of cider tasting sessions at The Stable, and they are really informative and a lot of fun – highly recommend!
Koh Thai Tapas
I only tried Thai food for the first time a couple of years ago, and I’m still making my mind up how I feel about the cuisine as a whole, but if I had to choose where to go for Thai food, I would pick Koh Thai hands down.
I recently went to Koh Lounge’s first birthday celebrations and their canapés were to die for. They are the perfect accompaniment to a nice cocktail, my favourite is the Kohtini, a twist on the Cosmopolitan.
One of my favourite meals was at Koh Thai for a work’s night out. We all shared lots of dishes, and I got to try things I had never tasted before – it was a really fun experience!
I am a huge fan of a good Indian takeaway, and we have an amazing local one, which is a firm favourite, but if I am heading out for a proper meal, I always go for Mint Leaf, in the town centre. The staff are so friendly and the food is so nice. I have had a few meals with large parties, including my hen party last year, and they are always really accommodating.
Do you have any other must-visit restaurants in Bournemouth? I love trying out new places!
