Press Visit
If you had to get to me to choose my absolute favourite place to eat in Bournemouth, although it would be tough as I have had the chance to eat at so many lovely places, I would most likely go for The Real Greek. I love the food, the atmosphere and the location of the Bournemouth branch of the popular chain restaurant, and I was more than happy to go along to have dinner for a review visit.
Over lockdown, I had takeaway from The Real Greek, which was delicious, but nothing compares to actually sitting in the restaurant, or in this case outside on the balcony overlooking Bournemouth Gardens, and taking in the atmosphere and conversation flowing. It was such a lovely evening, with the sun still shining and the temperatures making it feel like we were actually in Greece. I had a glass of the house white wine whilst we looked at the menu, and it was perfect just sipping on our drinks with that lovely view.

Something I really love about The Real Greek is the menu, and how you are encouraged to share dishes between the table, allowing you to try lots of different food. I usually stick to the same dishes, but I decided to be a little bolder this time and we went for four hot meze plates to share between us. We decided to have the flatbread with the Tzatziki dip to start, which was really lovely and fresh – perfect for the hot weather, and not something I had tried before (I usually go for the Spicy Feta).

The meze dishes we ordered were the Pork Belly, Lamb Skewer, Chicken Monastiraki and, of course, the Halloumi fries, which I just can never resist – they are so good, and even better dipped in the honey that comes with them. I really enjoyed all of the food, but for me the Chicken and the halloumi were the nicest – I am getting hungry thinking about them now…

If you are in the area, and looking for somewhere to go to eat this summer, I would definitely recommend The Real Greek. They have some really good offers on, and our meal and drinks for two of us would have come to under £50, although it was kindly gifted for the purpose of this review.
