Ok, if this year could just slow down a bit, that would be great. Does anybody else think time is just flying by now that things have gone ‘mostly’ back to normal after the pandemic? This year is the first in a a few that I have been working full time and not had that much time off and, I must admit, I am not loving it! When I have been off work, I have been trying to spend as much quality time as possible with the children, making those special memories, and I have not been up for going school shopping. So I was very grateful when Ryman got in touch and asked if I would like to pick out some bits from their back to school range, which is really extensive (they have everything from stationery to lunch boxes).
As Cameron is off to secondary school in September and has had to get a whole host of new bits for that already, I decided to focus on the younger two, who will be back to primary school together. I loved the bags that Ryman had to choose from, and the kids loved the designs I picked out for them, with their matching water bottles – they look brilliant!

It can be daunting going back to school after the long summer break, so it is always nice to get some brand new school things to make the transition into another year a little easier on them. Carly has struggled with school a little and has just been moved into a new class, which I am hoping will make things smoother for her. Meanwhile Benjamin absolutely loved reception, but things get a little more serious in year one, so I am crossing everything that he still finds school a joy when he goes back.

As I’ve mentioned, I am a working mum, so it’s important to me to make sure that I am involved with the back to school process as much as I can be (the children go to and from school with a childminder, so I won’t be doing the school run). Alongside stocking up on school uniform, I have been sitting down with the children and talking to them about the return to school so that they can voice any worries or concerns they might have in advance, which I find really helps them to settle back in.
If you are looking for school things for your little ones, I highly recommend having a look on the Ryman site, which has so many bits, even down to rulers and rubbers, it’s a one-stop shop and definitely preferable to trekking to the shops when the weather is this lovely. I was also sent some lovely notebooks, which I may have to keep for myself for work, as they are so pretty – Ryman is definitely my new favourite shop for all things Back to School!
This post features press samples, however all words and images are my own.
