I make no secret of the fact that I love a good gadget. I am not your typical technology fan, but I am obsessed with anything that can make life a bit easier, or more enjoyable. I am pretty sensible with money, so I don’t make any big tech purchases without doing my research and making sure what I am buying is a good investment first. Today I wanted to share the tech that I recommend to everyone, especially if you are short on time or create content for a living, as I do.
A Smart Watch
A smart watch is one of those purchases that you don’t know you need until you have it. I ummed and ahhed about whether to get mine for a long time, as it just seemed like an extravagance, especially as I had a smartphone which could do so much already, but then I got mine and it was a game changer! It is so good for when you are on the go, I quickly became obsessed. I have the Apple Watch, but it is pretty pricey, if you are looking for something a little more affordable, garmin watches for ladies are a brilliant alternative and come in a range of designs, with functions to suit individual needs.
A Phone with a Great Camera
I recently upgraded my phone to the iPhone 11 Pro Max and oh.my.word is it a fantastic phone. I am firmly an Apple girl, so there was no way I was switching to anything other than an iPhone, but this model is amazing, especially if you take lots of photos for a blog or social media account. I can quite happily leave my camera at home when I go out now I have this phone, the camera is brilliant and the photos I have taken on it are of excellent quality.
A Versatile Hair Straightener
Moving away from smart watched and phones, one of longest relationships has been with my GHD hair straighteners. I got my first pair when I was in my late teens and I have never looked back. I am only on my second pair now as they are just that amazing and last forever. I curl my hair, as well as straighten it, with my trusty GHDs. They are so quick to use, and heat up really fast, so I definitely recommend them if you are time-short.
A Hardworking Electric Toothbrush
I am actually in the market for a new electric toothbrush at the moment, and am currently doing my research on which to go for next. Electric toothbrushes are so much better than manual, and these days they can do so much at the touch of a button, making keeping on top of your oral health so much less hassle.
A Laptop that Does it All
I know, I know, I am an Apple fan, so I do have a MacBook, but you don’t have to splash out when it comes to a laptop. I would advise looking into the specs and having a clear idea of what it is you want from your laptop. Is it just to write with, to stream movies or music, or do you need to edit photography or videos? Do your research and find the model that works for you, before making a big purchase.
A Camera that Can Point and Shoot
I must admit, now that I have the iPhone that I do, I don’t rely on my camera as much as I did before, but I do still use it to take the majority of my blog photography, especially for close ups, when I want that lovely bokeh effect, and the portrait function on my phone just won’t cut it. I have the Olympus Pen EPL10 and have used the same camera, with different models, for the past few years. I love that you can literally point and shoot and create gorgeous images, or you can do your research and properly learn the craft. If you are just starting out, or you are short on time when it comes to taking photos and just want to be able to shoot and go, this is definitely the camera for you. It is fairly pricey, especially with the 45mm lens added on (trust me, you will want to have that lens as well as the kit lens), but it is worth it to create fantastic photos at the touch of a button.
