5 Things I’m Looking Forward to About September

I have made no secret of the fact that my mental health suffers as autumn rolls around and the days get shorter, the weather gloomier and the nights longer. I do get a little worried as August ends, that I am going to struggle, but I also don’t want my mental illness to define who I am and I try and focus on the positives and all the things I have to look forward to.

Starting a New Job

Although starting a new job can be daunting, I feel I am at the point in my life where I am ready to go back into a team work environment. I am not stopping the blog, and I will continue my self-employment alongside the new job, but I am really excited for this new step, and for everything it will mean for both myself and my family.

Cameron’s Birthday

Cameron turns nine in a couple of weeks and I cannot believe I am only a year away from being a mum for a whole decade – that is crazy! We have some fun stuff planned for his birthday, and I am so looking forward to celebrating with him. He has turned into such a grown up, inquisitive boy, and I couldn’t be prouder of him.

Bournemouth Blogger Events

This November I will have been running the Bournemouth Blogger network for a whole two years. I have a fun celebration planned to mark this occasion, but I am also equally looking forward to the events we have planned over the next month including a showcase with Lush and a collaboration with a local swim school.

Autumn TV Shows

The good thing about the nights drawing in and the weather turning colder is the chance to watch all the TV shows. Autumn officially has the best shows, and I am all about the Netflix life at this time of year. I think I am currently most looking forward to the final season of The Good Place (sad times that it is ending) and American Horror Story – Apocalypse (which we started last autumn but I couldn’t watch as I was feeling very anxious).

Autumn Wardrobe

I am also so looking forward to cracking out my autumn/winter wardrobe. I have been quite self-conscious about my figure this summer, and as a result I haven’t felt too good wearing my summer clothing. I am much more comfortable wearing skirts and dresses with tights and boots, skinny jeans and comfy jumpers. I recently treated myself to some new work clothes, and I can’t wait to wear them…
