Bournemouth Beauty Guide

•Features gifted services•

I am a big fan of beauty treatments. I love having my nails done and treat myself to other treatments every so often to make myself feel amazing. I am constantly on the hunt for the best beauty and hair salons in the local area, and I wanted to share my favourite places to have different treatments done.

In the interest of disclosure, some of the services featured have been gifted to myself by the company. However, I have only featured those I would recommend to friends, family and you, my readers.

Best for…. Nails

I came across Beauty by Jasmine when Jasmine tagged Bournemouth Bloggers in some of her Instagram posts and I fell in love with her beautiful gel nails. Really reasonably priced, and located just outside of Wimborne, Beauty by Jasmine is my go to for a gel manicure and pedicure. My recent gold sparkly birthday nails lasted two weeks and I can’t wait to go back for another manicure asap!

Best for… Highlights*

I used to go to the same salon all the time, and I got a bit stuck in a rut when it came to my hair. I have recently started working with the Simone Thomas salon in Westbourne, and I absolutely love the salon as a total haven when it comes to having my highlights done. For a start, as well as hot and cold drinks, the salon staff offer wine and totally yummy snacks too. Plus they use Olaplex, which has transformed my hair! I cannot wait to go back again in a few weeks to go blonder!

Best for…. Eyebrow Shape & Tint

I started going to Chic Beauty Salon in Winton just before Christmas for my eyebrow shape and tint, and I love how nice my brows look after an appointment with them. Quick, simple but effective, their brow shape and tint is so affordable and the perfect pick me up when I am feeling a lack of confidence.

Best for… LVL Lash Lift*

I am a complete novice when it comes to eyelash treatments, and hadn’t really heard of a LVL lash lift before I was invited into the Blush Beauty Lounge salon to try it out. The treatment is really effective, and had my natural lashes looking amazing from the very first day! The results lasted around 6-8 weeks before the lashes naturally started to fall out and regrow. I would have this done again if I were planning on going abroad, or for a special occasion. It made me feel so much more confident without makeup on.

Best for… Massage*

My best ever massage was at Beauty H, in Hoburne Bashley, during a review visit for their launch. The salon is really intimate, but the relaxation room was the perfect place to relax and the massage was amazing.

Best for… A Spa Day*

I love a good spa day. I find it the perfect indulgence to head off for the day and just forget about everything else and really take care of myself. It doesn’t happen that often, but when it does it feels like the ultimate act of self-care. The best spa day I have been on was at the Eforea Spa, Hilton Southampton Ageas Bowl. Their outdoor hot tub is the perfect place to totally chill out, and their range of treatments and indulgent afternoon tea makes this an incredible spa day.

Best for… Facial*

I only started getting into facials recently, and have tried out several over the space of a year. I think my favourite facial was at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel & Spa. I felt totally pampered, and my skin felt amazing afterwards (plus a visit to their Upper Deck restaurant for a delicious two course lunch topped things off nicely).

Best for… Aesthetics*

I must admit, treatments such as chemical peels and botox are not necessarily something I would say are enjoyable, but my first experience of an enzyme peel with the Sandbanks Clinic in Ashley Cross showed me that they are nothing to be scared of, if you want to prevent signs of ageing, or have a treatment with more lasting results, in a friendly but clinical environment.

Treatments with a * were kindly gifted to me. I will be adding and adapting this post as I try new treatments. If you are a beauty salon and would like me to visit and try out a treatment with you, please let me know.
