Beauty – Celebrating the Launch of Temple Spa at the Bluewater Spa in Bournemouth with Sunny Bird PR

I am a huge fan of a good spa day but, with the three young children, I don’t get the chance to enjoy them very often. I was really pleased to be invited along to an event at the Connaught Hotel’s Bluewater Spa to celebrate their partnership with leading beauty skincare brand Temple Spa.

My sister has previously stayed at the hotel and said how lovely it is there, but I hadn’t actually been myself before so it was nice to take a look around and see the facilities on offer. The event was organised by Sunny Bird PR, a local firm who I have had the pleasure to meet on a couple of previous occasions including their recent launch event for 1805.

I took my mum along as my plus one and we arrived just after the event started at 5pm. We were greeted by members of the team and invited to enter a prize draw to win a spa day for two before being shown into the main function room and offered a glass of prosecco or an orange juice.

There were Temple Spa products on display, with members of staff explaining all about the range and the new partnership with the hotel’s spa and we were also handed a brochure with information on all the treatments on offer.

Members of staff walked around with trays filled with delicious canapés.

I had a few of the breaded mozarella and tomato cups (I am positive this wasn’t their official name but they were gorgeous either way) and my mum and I both enjoyed the brisket. There were a few dessert canapés as well including a yummy looking smoothie but we didn’t manage to have any of these.

There were lots of people at the event who I knew and I spent a long time catching up with them and introducing them to my mum, which was lovely. There was live music playing in the background and the general atmosphere was   buzzing, everyone seemed to be having a good time networking.

There were complimentary hand massages but it was a little too crowded for us to wait so instead we headed down to have a look around the spa.

The spa is downstairs with a generous sized swimming pool and jacuzzi leading off to the individual and couple treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge which smelt absolutely incredible – I wish you could put a scent into a blog post because it is so difficult to explain it, a bit like lemons but so much nicer than that sounds! I could have laid down and stayed there for hours.

We had a look around the gym and swimming pool areas before heading back upstairs to catch the end of a speech about the partnership and then it was time for us to leave, picking up a goody bag with Temple Spa product samples on the way out.

It was lovely to visit the hotel, find out a bit more about the spa and new partnership and to catch up with lots of friends all in one place. I will be looking into booking a spa day soon.

I was invited along to the Connaught Hotel’s Bluewater Spa event by Sunny Bird PR, however I was under no obligation to write about the experience. All words and images are my own.
