Mummy Mondays – Finding Healthier Snacks for My Family

I try to provide healthy balanced meals for the children, but when it comes to snacks I struggle a little as the older two are so fussy. Rather than relying on a bag of crisps or cake bar, I have been trying to find some healthier alternatives, and when I was offered to sample some of the items from Pip & Nut, Kind and Doisy & Dam, I knew it would be the perfect chance to try something new for the whole family.

First up is a selection of spreads from the lovely people at Pip and Nut. I am not a huge fan of peanut butter, but Ed’s eyes lit up when we received this bundle as he loves it. I was interested to see what the kids thought of these, as they haven’t really tried Peanut Butter before.

Peanut Butter is brilliant as a healthy snack, it can be spread onto rice crackers or apple slices to add flavour, or to toast to make an alternative and simple breakfast.

As a busy mum, I can struggle to find the time myself to eat in the morning, so these snack bars from Kind will be brilliant for snacking on the go. There are a variety of different flavours including the delicious dark chocolate almond mint, and tempting maple glazed pecan & sea salt. They are suitable for all the family, and are so easy to grab and go when you are in a hurry.

My favourite of the selection has to be the chocolate from Doisy & Dam. Again, not typically considered healthy, this variety is much better for you than a bar of Dairy Milk with superfoods and high cocoa content, and with some mouthwatering flavour combinations like maple, toasted rice & pink salt and lemon, poppyseed & baobab, they will totally satisfy a sweet tooth.
