Adding Some Personal Touches to Our Home with Desenio

If you’ve been following me for awhile, you’ll know how much I love expressing myself with a good quote and, after reading a self help book about making the most of your time every morning, I have really gotten into the power of positive thinking, and how motivating words can be. When Desenio got in touch about a collaboration, I headed over to their site and was delighted to find a plethora of prints with phrases and sayings, along with lots of gorgeous images, and I spent an evening just browsing the site and choosing my favourites.

The website is so easy to navigate, and has handy categories to help break down your search if you have an idea of what prints you are looking for. You can also search for specific images, or look at prints that are a certain size (they have prints from 5×7 to 28×39), or look at their ‘New In’ section if you’re looking for something you won’t have seen before. All the prints are made using high quality materials, and there’s the option to purchase frames and accessories with your print order, which is brilliant if you like getting everything sorted in one go.

I decided I wanted to focus on jazzing up my work desk, which also acts as a dressing table, as it was looking a bit bare. One of the things I love about Desenio is that they have an extensive range of prints available in smaller sizes from just £2.95 each, and I started putting together a collection of images and sayings that I thought would help brighten up my work space whilst also adding a touch of glamour to this area of my bedroom, without taking up too much desk space.

My absolute favourite of the prints I went for was the ‘Girls Need to Support Girls‘ poster. In the blogging industry, things can sometimes get a little bitchy, and it can feel isolating, but I am fortunate to have found some absolutely incredible, strong women who live locally to me and remind me that girls can be pretty awesome when we stick together!

I also had to have the ‘Black Feather’ print, as it reminds me of the tattoo I have on my left wrist, which I got to signify my granddad watching over me. When I look at this it calms my mind and pushes me to achieve my dreams to make him proud of me.

I couldn’t resist picking up the ‘Sparkle’ print. This is just the cutest, and has taken pride of place on my desk space to remind me to push myself out of my comfort zone, live life to the fullest and really enjoy myself.

Finally the ‘Lipstick’ and ‘Nail Polish’ images are just what I was looking for to add to the side of my desk dedicated to my skincare and makeup. I like how they balance out the other prints, and add a girly edge. I chose Desenio’s gold frames for all five prints, as I liked the contrast between the white of the desk and the metallic shade of the frames.

Whilst I was browsing the site, I came across this totally gorgeous retro ‘Vintage Camera Girl’ print and had to have it. I’ve put it in our conservatory, which doubles up as a dining room and study space, and is where I take all my blog photography.

I just love how sexy and bold the model looks in the image, and I am a sucker for anything with a camera in the shot, having really taken an interested in photography over the last year or so. I love how it looks in the black Desenio frame against our cream walls, and I have already had a few compliments on it from visitors.

I also decided to order a couple of prints for Carly, as her bedroom was looking a little bare. She has a little bedside cabinet with a lamp on, which is the perfect size for a couple of the smaller size prints.

I wanted prints that weren’t overly girly, as she is a bit of a tomboy, and I absolutely love how these two look displayed together. The ‘Born to Be Wild’ print is perfect for Carly, who is incredibly strong willed, which a lot of character, and I couldn’t resist the ‘Falling Stars’ print, with just a splash of bright pink. It looks amazing next to the bold monochrome of the other print. I chose black frames from Desenio to complete the look.

I absolutely love my purchases from Desenio, and will be heading back to the site once we have moved house to pick up some more. If you would like to treat yourself to some prints, Desenio have kindly offered a discount code for my readers – the code “evenangelsfall” gives 25% off posters* on Desenio’s websites between August 14th and 16th. *Except for frames and handpicked-/collaboration posters.
