Mummy Mondays – Updating Carly’s Bedroom with Aspace

When we moved into our house eighteen months ago, Carly was only just four, and she was still very much into her character bedding.

Her favourite film at the time was Inside Out, but she’s since grown out of it, and I’d been meaning to replace her duvet cover for awhile when the team at Aspace got in touch offering to send over their new Chloe duvet cover set for us to review.

The set has been designed by student textile designer Chloe Flint as part of Aspace’s brand new Young Designer initiative. I hadn’t really heard of the brand before, so I was really interested to find out more about them, and the new range.

As well as bedding, Aspace also stock children’s bedroom furniture including beds, wardrobes, desks and bookcases, plus mattresses and accessories. I absolutely love the look of their sweetheart bedroom set – totally adorable!

When I received the duvet set through the post I took it out of the packaging and was impressed by the feel and quality of the material, it was strong but soft, and on first impressions it definitely seemed like it would be a lot more hardwearing than Carly’s old duvet cover.

The set is 100% cotton and includes the single duvet cover and a matching pillow, both of which are reversible, which is brilliant for children like Carly who are a little indecisive. It’s also good value as you’re getting two designs for the price of one.

The set was quite creased when it came out of the packaging, so we had to give it a quick iron beforehand but, once on, Carly absolutely loved it. She was so excited to show everybody her ‘new’ room, and she happily got ready at bedtime to spend the night in her new covers.

When I gave Carly her cuddle that night, I was really impressed with how comfortable her duvet felt. The old cover had been fairly cheap and thin. This one is definitely thicker and a better quality, and it made the covers feel lovely and welcoming, I could have happily snuggled up and gone to sleep with Carly.

I’m really impressed with the duvet set. Not only does it look nice, the quality is fantastic, and I really love that the brand are providing the opportunity for talented young designers, like Chloe, to showcase their skills. The duvet set is priced at £55, which is pricier than other sets I have bought in the past, but I feel justifiable for the superior calibre, which is sure to last.

I was sent the Chloe duvet set for the purpose of this review, however all opinions and photos are my own.
