I mentioned last week that I was lucky enough to get lots of lovely beauty gifts for Christmas. One of the sets I got was the Clinique Christmas Essentials, something I was very excited to try as I had never used Clinique products before.

I must admit, I haven’t really used the makeup items in the set yet, other than the Pout Perfecting Balm. I have, however, been using the Pep-Start 2 in 1 Exfoliating CleanserMoisture Surge Hydrating Supercharged Concentrate and Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturiserand Eye Cream as my new daily skincare regime.

I have a little confession to make, before now I haven’t really used skincare products in the morning – I know, I know, I am such a bad beauty blogger. I just never prioritised skincare when I got up, but that has all changed now.

Before I even think about reaching for my makeup, I head to the bathroom and use the 2 in 1 exfoliator and cleanser to ensure my skin is completely clean and clear.

I grab the Moisture Surge Concentrate and apply a little over my T-Zone, where my skin gets dry the most.

I have heard amazing things about the moisture surge moisturiser and I think I will be purchasing that soon. For now, I smooth on the HydroBlur moisturiser, which is honestly one of the silkiest, softest creams I have ever used and so good at smoothing out my skin and providing a fresh base.

I then finish off with a tiny amount of the eye cream, which I dab under my eyes with my index finger. My eyes are always so tired, with dark circles underneath, and it’s nice to give them a bit of extra TLC. I will need to start using more products on them as I am fast approaching my thirties now (argh).

One of my aims for this month is to wake up a little earlier so that I can do this and then sit and relax for a little while, letting the products sink in a bit, as currently I am rushing onto my makeup straight after this and I don’t think I am leaving enough time for them to work their magic!

Do you have a morning skincare regime? Are there any miracle products you think I should be trying?

  1. I definitely need to take more care with my skin and actually form a routine. I do have a little product I use everyday and it’s the Bodyshop Aqua boost sorbet. Which helps to keep the skin on your face hydrated throughout the day and it feels so soft when applying and leaves your face super smooth and soft also x
