These posts seem to be so controversial. I personally don’t see why. I am nosey and love reading all about what people received from loved ones, friends and family.
Reading other people’s always gives me an idea of what I might want for my birthday in May, or to treat myself to throughout the year.
This year I got a lot of beauty based gifts, which I had mostly asked for myself, so I’ve decided to focus on these for this post.
I have added a couple of photos at the bottom of the other gifts I got though, in case you’re interested.
No7 Youthful Skincare Collection
I have been using No7’s Youthful replenishing facial oil ever since I received it as part of a gift set last Christmas. It’s amazing!
This year, as soon as my mum asked me what I wanted, I added this set to the list for the oil alone (although I was a little disappointed to realise upon opening it, that the oil included is tiny!).
I like No7’s products so will make use of the rest of the set in my nightly skincare routine.
Clinique Christmas Essentials
I spotted this when it was on offer in Boots. I loved the look of it so much that, when my mum picked one up for my sister in law, I had Ed wrap one up for me too.
I have heard so many good things about the brand but I hadn’t ever tried any of the products myself before so I had high hopes.
I’ve only used a few of the products so far, but I already love them! The Pep-Start HydroBlur Moisturiser in particular is amazing, so soft and velvety and makes my skin feel incredible.
I also love the Pout Perfecting Balm in Guava Tint – it makes my lips look so pretty with a subtle pink wash of colour.
I had seen some other bloggers talking about this gadget before Christmas and decided that I had to have one myself.
Luckily Ed’s parents asked him what I would like and he let them know this was on my wishlist.
I picked up the 500ml brush cleanser to go with it as apparently it gets the brushes a lot cleaner than other brands.
I haven’t actually had a chance to use it yet but I’m so excited to clean and dry my brushes without having to wait around for ages as I usually do.
Ted Baker Brush Set
I received a Ted Baker set last Christmas and absolutely loved the brushes. They were such good quality and have lasted me the year.
They always look really lovely as well – so lovely in fact that I hesitated using them for the first time as I wanted to make sure I’d taken enough shots of them looking all pristine!
I received this bumper set from my brother’s girlfriend and I love the smell of it. Coconut always makes me think of sunshine and holidays, and I’ll be slathering these products on in preparation for our honeymoon (if we ever get round to booking it).
Candy Cane Cream iN.gredients Mask
I hadn’t heard of this brand before, but I’m excited to give this face mask a go. It says it cleanses, refines and purifies so I’m hopeful it will make my skin feel nice and soft and revived after too much alcohol and bad food and not enough sleep over Christmas
Lady Million Fragrance Set
I absolutely love the smell of this perfume. It’s such a strong, sexy scent and I always feel more confident and womanly wearing it.
I had forgotten about it for awhile, found a very nearly empty bottle of it at the back of my cupboard and used it all up before Christmas, so I’m really happy to have a brand new bottle.
The body lotion is really nice too, with a hint of shimmer to it and a long lasting scent like the perfume.
I’ve also bought myself the La Vie est Belle Lancôme scent in the sales, which came with some makeup minis, so I’ll be using these two fragrances on rotation.
No7 Advent Calendar
Although strictly not a Christmas gift, I wanted to include the absolutely amazing advent calendar from No7 because it was packed with really lovely products including a gift voucher for a full size bronzer colour matched in store! I loved this calendar (priced at £40) and will definitely be checking out their offering next Christmas!
Other gifts I got this Christmas….
