This week I had a chat with Kelly from Nature Mum Blog.
Hi Kelly, congratulations on the engagement! When’s the big day?
We are due to marry on the 7th August 2017.

Tell me a bit about yourself and your partner. When and where did you first meet?
The first time I met my partner was actually at my sisters wedding. He was the Usher and the Grooms brother. He is actually my sisters brother in law. So we met in a church.
How did they propose? Or was it you who popped the question?
He took our son and I to the top of Carreg Cennen castle in Wales. We were meant to be going for a casual walk but once we stopped for a rest he took the ring from his pocket and popped the question. It was a truly beautiful moment as our son was with us too.
How far into the planning process are you?
We have booked nearly everything now. I just need to get flowers, bridesmaids dresses and gifts. I am doing the flowers myself so I really need to research how to do them! Oh we also need rings. I would love ethical white gold but they are way out of our budget. I really don’t like the idea of marrying with rings which aren’t for life but I can’t see any other option.
Tell me a bit about your big day. Where are you getting married? Do you have a theme or a colour scheme?
We are getting married in a beautiful Welsh manor called Newton House Dinefwr, in Llandeilo. We are getting married in their gardens over looking their deer park. It is a very romantic and historical setting. Our theme is nature.

What’s been the best part of wedding planning so far?
Finding my wedding dress. I am a curvatious lady so I wasn’t sure if I would find one that suits. I have actually found the most amazing dress that shows off my hour glass figure. I hated taking it off at my last fitting.
Have there been any low points or things you have found harder than you imagined?
Yes quite a few. I really wanted to elope. We have a lot of complications in our family so I wasn’t keen on a big family wedding. I have found that certain family members aren’t so keen on our wedding because they think it has cost a lot of money, purely because of the location. But it was much cheaper than any of the weddings in my family. But I guess that is families for you.
Thank you so much for taking part in Behind the Bride. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!

Ahh lovely story, I love hearing how people met! The photo of your fiance and little boy with the ring is a keeper forever. Good luck with the rest of your plans, and the flowers! x
Lovely interview- Congratulations on the engagement what a romantic proposal and having your little by there too makes it extra special. The location sounds amazing, wedding always seem to cause a family stir but remember it’s your day not there’s 🙂 xx
How cute that you met at your sisters and the proposal was even cuter, aww! Have a fab day!
What a lovely read and congrats to the couple. Love reading all these wedding plans and how each couple meet x
Aww I love hearing about weddings, it makes me miss planning mine! What a lovely proposal story too! Good luck 🙂 xx
Weddings make me so excited. I love that they’ve met at a wedding themselves too I think that’s sweet. And yay for the right dress, I’m exactly the same, pretty curvy so too worry if I’d find ‘the one’
