Press Stay
Although I live in Bournemouth, I am not adverse to a little staycation, especially as we are in the process of moving house at the moment and things at home are fairly stressful, plus Bournemouth is such a beautiful place to be when the sun is shining, so a stay at Marriott Bournemouth was absolutely perfect! I took along my mum, who is always so helpful with looking after my children, and it was so lovely to have some one on one time together and to properly catch up and enjoy the quiet time in the sunshine.

We were staying in a Seaview room, with beautiful views across to Bournemouth Pier and the beachfront. As it was such lovely weather we could see clearly across to Old Harry Rocks one side and over towards the Isle of Wight the other side – amazing! We decided to make the most of the gorgeous sunshine and headed out for a little stroll down the front steps to the cliffside path, where we enjoyed those beautiful sea views again up close. The Bournemouth coastline truly is stunning.

I was bursting to see the outdoor pool area so we headed straight there from our walk and were not disappointed. The pool is heated to an amazingly warm 32 degrees, it honestly felt like I was swimming in a huge hot tub, it was incredible! My mum isn’t a fan of swimming so she chilled poolside while I got a few laps in, and then we both read some of our books with a lovely light breeze coming from the seafront, which you could see from one end of the pool. It was so relaxing up there, definitely want to go back at some point!

We had a bit of time back in the room to get ready for our evening meal, which we had booked at the hotel restaurant Brasserie Blanc. I had been here a few times before, and knew it would be a lovely meal. We were seated by the window and had a beautiful view out to sea as the sun began to slowly set during the meal, fantastic! Alongside glasses of fizz, we enjoyed the Pig Shoulder Roulade and a Steak, both cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The desserts were equally tasty, with my mum’s citrus meringue coming out absolutely huge!

We headed up to the room to catch the last of the sunset, get into our complimentary robes and chill out watching tv together on the bed. It was the perfect end to the day and that bed was absolutely amazing, so comfy, I was definitely finding it hard to leave it the next morning! The promise of a buffet breakfast persuaded me though, and I really enjoyed the amount of choice. There was a continental section with meats, cheeses, yoghurts, fruits etc as well as plenty of bread and pastries, plus juices. I made a beeline for the hot food offering and filled my plate with a Full English, including eggs cooked to order by the chef whilst you waited. Plate loaded, we sat in the restaurant area to eat. It was busy but not too crowded.

After breakfast, we decided to head out for a walk along the beach, and ended up on the Pier. Although we live here, it was still so nice to be tourists for the morning. Plus the late checkout time of midday meant that we could explore at our leisure! By the time we checked out, I felt like I had been away for longer than one night, and further than 15 minutes from home! I would highly recommend the hotel for location (right on the cliffside and literally a few minutes walk from the beach, pier and town centre), friendliness of staff, outdoor pool (I was loving the temperature) and onsite dining – Brasserie Blanc is a total winner!

I was invited to stay at Marriott Bournemouth for the purpose of review, however all words and images are my own.
