While sure, there’s something (sometimes) special about UK winters, at the same time, it’s not always so magical. Just think about it, there’s the endless grey skies, and the never-ending drizzle. So, why not trade all that in for some sunshine?

If you want consistency, you’re going to get it in Florida. Florida, with its warm weather, sandy beaches, and endless things to do (such as going to Disneyland), is the perfect escape for your winter holiday. If you’re looking for an excuse to swap your woolly jumpers for swimsuits, here are a few reasons why a winter getaway to Florida should be at the top of your list.

It’s All Sunshine

Winter coats? Forget about them. Florida is famous for its year-round sunshine, and winter is no exception. While the UK is huddled under blankets, Florida is basking in temperatures around the low 20s Celsius.

That means you can hit the beach, dive into the ocean, or just soak up some rays without sweating through your clothes like you might in summer. Of course, it really depends on where you’re going, but at least the southernmost part of Florida is going to feel amazing and warm.

Thrills and Fun Without the Humidity

If you’re someone who craves a bit more excitement than lounging by the pool, Florida’s got you covered. Now, believe it or not, there aren’t too many tourists going there during the winter. The average person wants to have a Christmas-snowy adventure, not sitting at the beach or the Everglades. So, visiting in winter means you won’t be sweating it out in the sweltering heat, and the queues are usually shorter, too. More time for rides means less time being miserable in the heat.

Now, sure, there are the amusement parks that everyone should do, of course, but there are plenty of shows and concerts too, depending on where you’re going. Besides, hotels near Midflorida Credit Union Amphitheatre are far more affordable in the winter season, and the same goes for concert and live show ticket sales. Basically, almost everything in Florida is cheaper since winter is considered off-season.

Get Up Close With Nature

If you’re a wildlife enthusiast, Florida in winter is an absolute dream. It’s the dry season, which means fewer bugs and more opportunities to see the state’s incredible wildlife. Birds migrate here for the winter, so you’re going to see a lot of birds (ideal if you’re a bird-watcher). But of course, there’s still the dolphins, manatees, and alligators, too. Again, it’s warm, so you’ll still get to see a lot of wildlife.

There’s Plenty of Florida’s Culture to Dive Into

Believe it or not, Florida isn’t all beaches and roller coasters. The state has a surprising amount of culture to explore. Basically, there is something for everyone, such as architectural walks (which is ideal in St. Augustine or even Miami if you love modernism).

But again, St. Augustine is also one of the oldest cities in the US, so if you want to feel like you’re in Spain without actually going to Spain, then this is the perfect place. Besides, some of the best outlet malls are in Florida anyway, so you can do some shopping for cheap prices!
