I am fortunate enough that my dad is a member of The Nici Bournemouth’s spa, which allows him to bring along a guest once a month. For the past couple of months, I have been along with him and enjoyed all the benefits that spa members enjoy. The best news? You can enjoy the facilities for a day at a fairly affordable price, even if you don’t know somebody who is a member! The Nici have a Daycation offer for use of the spa facilities (including the fantastic outdoor pool) along with lunch from £85 per person.
I absolutely recommend a visit to The Nici’s spa. I have been on a couple of spa days before and absolutely loved it, but I must admit that it has been even better since it’s been warm enough to use the outdoor pool alongside the indoor facilities! The outdoor pool has a brilliant atmosphere, especially on hot and sunny days, when the bright blue of the pool sparkles under the sun and looks brilliant as a backdrop to bright and colourful cocktails, available from the poolside bar.
I love the fact that the pool is so long, meaning you can get your lengths in, or chill out to one side if you’d prefer. There is plenty of room for everyone! There is bar access as well as separate toilets for those using the pool area, which means you don’t have to keep going all the way back to the hotel, which is so convenient, giving you more time to sunbathe and enjoy the poolside vibes.
If you do want to go inside, there are plenty of facilities to keep you occupied in the main spa including an indoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, plus a well equipped gym, a relaxation room and treatment rooms, should you wish to upgrade your visit and treat yourself to a massage, facial or body treatment.
I’ve had lunch in the restaurant too and really enjoyed it. They have some delicious dishes on offer, and I would recommend eating out on the terrace area overlooking the pool. I also recommend the cocktails at Old Harry Rocks, which you can also enjoy poolside in plastic glasses.
Definitely look into a spa day pass at The Nici, especially now those sunny days are more frequent. I have really enjoyed my recent visits – you could be abroad when sitting around that pool with the sun shining down on you!
