Over the past few months, I have fallen into some really unhealthy eating habits. I wouldn’t say I was actively trying to lose weight at the moment, but I am looking to make healthier, more sensible choices when it comes to food. I don’t know an awful lot about nutrition, but I know enough to understand that snacking on foods with empty calories and high levels of fat and sugar in the evenings is not a sensible idea, or something I should be doing long term. I will eat healthily throughout the day and then end up eating all the snacks after dinner.
I was recently introduced to the yummy products of Deliciously Guilt Free, which is a UK based company who started up after the founders struggled to shop for sugar free baked goods, that were made from clean and natural ingredients. Deliciously Guilt Free’s mission is to “hand-make sweet treats, using all natural ingredients that are low in sugar, and low carb”.

Having a massive sweet tooth, and snacking mainly on chocolate and biscuits of an evening, I was intrigued by the concept of tasty treats that weren’t filled with chemicals and fake ingredients. Deliciously Guilt Free’s range includes brownies, blondies and cakes such as millionaires shortbread and blueberry and lemon drizzle cakes – just looking at their website has me drooling.

Now I am in my thirties, I am making an effort to change my eating habits, and companies that cater for those watching their sugar levels, as well as those who are following specific restrictive diets, for whatever reason, are helpful to stop you from feeling like you are missing out on treats.
I want to go into being thirty-two in a couple of weeks with a more positive mindset when it comes to food. I don’t want to label snacks as bad and good, so finding healthier alternatives to my favourite treats is a step in the right direction. Alongside this I am moving more, mainly thanks to having our puppy Bella to take for walks daily, and I am feeling positive about fuelling my body and keeping in shape.

As well as paying attention to my snacking, I have been looking at our weekly shopping list and adding in more fresh ingredients, cutting down on processed foods, ready made sauces and products made with white flour. I love to cook, but am not brilliant at it, so I also want to work on this, getting the whole family involved so that I don’t feel like I am restricting myself with a special diet and having to do twice as much cooking.

Deliciously Guilt Free are brilliant if you are looking to make healthier choices with your snacks, if you are on a low-carb or keto diet, or for those who are avoiding sugar for medical reasons. You can buy individual treats or choose a mixed box to find out which is your favourite.
