I don’t know about you, but lockdown has been playing all kinds of tricks on my skin. I think it is a combination of too much time out in sun in the back garden, a lack of sleep and one too many glasses of wine after a stressful daily briefing, but my skin has been feeling really dry and not looking fantastic.
A few weeks ago, I made a conscious effort to start drinking a few less wines and a few more glasses of water, as well as stepping up my skincare regime, both morning and night, and I am starting to see a difference.
Here are the products I use daily, nightly and weekly, to keep my combination skin in check.
I have tried so many moisturisers in the past but I fell in love with this No7 day cream, formulated specifically for those with drier skin. It is super lightweight, comes in a handy pump bottle, and sinks into my skin really fast, giving it a boost of hydration when I wake up.
I have also started using the PIXI Glow Tonic in the mornings, after hearing amazing things from other bloggers and makeup artists. I like that it feels like it is doing something, but I think I need to give it a bit more time before noticing any visible changes to the brightness of my skin.
Every evening, without fail, I remove my makeup with Garnier’s Miscellar Water, as I have never found a product as good for sensitive skin, that doesn’t irritate my face at all (I have eczema around the top of my nose and jawline, which can get aggravated by some products).
Following this, I wash my face and use the Estee Lauder Perfectly Clean foam cleanser, which I have mentioned in previous skincare blog posts, before using the ARK Skincare hydrating serum and No7’s HydraLuminous Overnight Recovery Cream, which is fantastic at providing a super soft hydration shot before bed.
I try and do at least one face mask a week. I vary which ones I use, especially during lockdown when they are harder to come by, but I was sent a few as part of my birthday gifts at the beginning of the month and I am slowly working my way through these. I love the 7th Heaven peel off masks, and this Bubble Mask is also brilliant. I also got this Nivea Sleeping Melt-In Mask for my birthday, and it is nice as an extra treat for my face, neck and upper chest after a day in the sun.
Are there any other products I should try out? Let me know in the comments!
