I’m a big fan of food in general but I struggle to think of tasty, quick to prepare meals for during the day. Working from home I tend to grab whatever is easiest, and it usually results in a mid-afternoon slump or feeling hungry an hour or two later.
Last weekend, I headed over to The Real Eating Company in the centre of Bournemouth to find out more about their collaboration with local company Lunch’d. Lunch’d offer freshly prepared, nutritious and healthy dairy and gluten free meals in a box, perfect for eating on the go or at the office.
Founder Oli is absolutely lovely and clearly incredibly passionate about his company. He also introduced us to another local businessman behind Green Ponics, growing microherbs here in Dorset. It was so nice to learn more about the local produce, and to talk to people who have so much motivation.
Helena, founder of The Real Eating Company, joined us and explained that Lunch’d will be available to eat in or take away Tuesdays and Wednesdays from this week. We had the My Phat Greek Box, which not only tasted great, I felt good after I ate it and it was a nice change from my usual lunch of jacket potato with beans!
Formerly only available through offices, the move to the high street will allow for a wider audience for Lunch’d. The seasonal hotboxes are priced at £6.95 and include combinations such as the Jerk Chicken Box. As well as being dairy and gluten free, there are also vegan boxes available.
I really enjoyed the event, not only was it good to find out all about the collaboration, but The Real Eating Company is a fantastic venue for meeting up with friends. We all had a brilliant time enjoying the food and atmosphere and catching up.
I was invited to the launch event with the Bournemouth Bloggers and provided with a complimentary meal and drink, however all words and images are my own.
