Having received quite a few beauty gifts over Christmas, I’ve had lots of new products to try out over the past six weeks or so.
I thought it would be good to do a little round up post of the ones I’ve been loving. There’s a real mix of makeup, fragrance, and skincare.
Lancome La vie est Belle
This has been a firm favourite of mine ever since I bought it for myself in the Boxing Day sales.
I wear it as my everyday scent, and I’ve had a few compliments on how nice it smells. It’s really feminine and fresh and makes me feel like I can take on the world when I wear it.
Urban Decay Eye Shadow in YDK
I have both the Naked2 and Naked3 palettes from Urban Decay and have only hit pan on two shades, one of which is YDK, which I was obsessed with.
I had debated getting a whole new naked2 palette but figured it was a bit of a waste when I still have so many of the other shades left.
In the end I sucked it up and bought myself the individual shade. It’s £15 but is lasting really well considering I now wear it most days.
I just love the pigmentation of the urban decay shadows and this shade is gorgeous.
Clinique Pep-Start Eye Cream
The Clinique Set I got for Christmas is absolutely incredible, especially this eye cream. I am useless and haven’t really used eye creams before and as I get older I’ve been noticing more faint lines, which has panicked me.
I’m using this cream on my dark circles mainly, but I think I will be looking into a more concentrated formula to help with the lines as well.
No7 Early Defence Glow Activating Serum
I absolutely love the No7 skincare range, and have been using several of their products in the protect and perfect range for awhile now.
This newly launched serum is brilliant. It leaves my skin baby soft and I have noticed a definite improvement in tone as well. I’ve been using this for the past week and I feel my skin does appear brighter.
Clinique Take the Day off Cleansing Balm
Another Clinique favourite. This one is excellent for taking off the excess makeup that my miscellar water misses, especially around the eyes and creases of my nose.
I have never really used a balm before, but a little goes a very long way and this has become a firm part of my nightly skincare regime now.
Estée Lauder The Illuminator
I’ve been using this for awhile now, having previously used a sample and buying the full size because it was so good.
This primer feels more like a cream in consistency, and it leaves a lovely subtle sheen under my foundation. I use this with Doublewear, and I love how it makes my base makeup look.
No7 Gel Finish in Hotting Up
I am a bit boring when it comes to nail polish and usually stick to my trusty red shades. I decided to go for something a little brighter ready for spring, and I’m loving this pink shade.
It’s great for a pop of colour, and the finish is really nice for a polish. I generally add a gel finish top coat as well, and I like the effect I get (not quite as good as actual salon gel nails but better than a normal polish).
Max Factor False Lash Epic Mascara
I got this in a set over Christmas and have been using it ever since in favour of my previous False Lash Effect. I know everyone is raving about Benefit’s new Bad Gal Bang recently but I think this gives much nicer lashes personally, and only costs £11.99 (£8 less than Benefit) – win, win.
Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask
I’ve loved the Garnier sheet masks since I started using them but I do get put off by the price (I used to stockpile them when Boots would reduce them to 99p).
This Super-Hydrating Soothing one caught my eye (mainly because of its lovely baby pink packaging, if I’m being honest), and I must admit it left my skin feeling even softer.
I always feel like my skin has had a proper pamper when I use these masks, and I can almost justify spending £3 on it for the results.
This post includes some gifted items, however all opinions and photos are my own.
