I think April is my most jam packed month this year! Everything seems to be happening within a few weeks and I now don’t have a weekend without plans until June!
Most exciting of all is that a month today it’ll be the day before my birthday, eek! I’m turning 28 so I still have a couple of years before the big 3-0 when I’ll start panicking and no longer enjoying birthdays! So, what are the things filling up our calendar this month?
1st – Girls Night in – Mexican Themed
Tonight I’m meeting up with old work friends for yummy Mexican food. We’re staying in and all bringing a dish along so it should be a really good night!
3rd – The Stable New Menu Launch Event
Ed is more excited than me as this event also has cider tasting. We are big fans of the restaurant so are looking forward to sampling the new menu.
5th – Baby Led Weaning Talk
With Benjamin turning 6 months in only a couple of weeks, I’m reading up on baby led weaning and this talk should help ease any of my worries. My mum has bought us a highchair for Benjamin and we’ll be stocking up on some other essentials!
6th – Summer/Holiday Clothes Shop
With a holiday to Spain at the end of May and our Santorini wedding/holiday in August, the children (and me) will need some new summery clothes to wear. My mum and I are planning to get it all done in one big shopping trip – wish us luck!
8th – Easter Holidays
The children break up from school and nursery and I am so looking forward to spending some quality time with them.
9th-11th – Trip up North
First up on our Easter break plans is a trip up north to see my brother, his wife and their beautiful baby daughter Isla. I’m driving up there (for the first time ever – argh) so it’s going to be an experience! On the way back down we are stopping off somewhere for the night and going to a mini theme park with the kids.
16th – Easter Sunday Family Lunch (Benjamin’s first meal)!
Benjamin turns 6 months on 18th but I figured 2 days wouldn’t hurt so his first meal will be with family for an Easter Sunday roast. I’m so excited for him to try food for the very first time!
17th – Easter Egg Hunt for Children
Easter wouldn’t be Easter without an egg hunt!
20th – Local Blog Event & Dinner
I’m a little nervous about this event as it involves heights (!) but it should be really good fun and I’m looking forward to meeting up with other local bloggers for it.
23rd – Benjamin’s Christening
We struggled to find a church accommodating for the date we wanted but fortunately it’s all booked and we will be having Benjamin christened just down the road from us with some tea and cake back at ours afterwards. We’ve kept it small and intimate with just close family and friends this time round as we really can’t afford anything huge so close to the wedding.
28th – Nails
I’m planning on having my nails done in preparation for my hen weekend and birthday.
29th-30th – Hen Weekend
I’m very excited for my hen. We’re heading off to Bath for the day for cupcake decorating and a meal before going back to mine for an adult sleepover with snacks and drinks and party games. On the Sunday we are off to Southampton for a pamper at the Ageas Bowl Hilton Spa before meeting up with more friends in the evening back in Bournemouth for a curry and some drinks in my favourite bar!
