Beauty – My Black Friday Bargain – Soap & Glory Extrava-Glam-Za

I’ve never really been one to make a big deal about Black Friday, and I’ll be honest, this year I was getting a little fed up with how long and drawn out it became, especially as it is an American thing.

However, I’m not one to turn down a bargain when I see one. As I had a fair amount of Boots Advantage card points to spend, when I saw the Soap and Glory Extrava-Glam-Za gift set reduced by 50% (from £50 to £25) on the Boots website I decided I had to have it.

Unfortunately just about every other girl seemed to have the same idea that day and by the time I got to my local store there was only one set left and it turns out that some lovely person had stolen the two included makeup brushes….

With the gift set sold out online I ended up getting it anyway but I am pretty gutted to not have the complete set. Boots and Soap and Glory were very helpful over Twitter and, although unfortunately they couldn’t provide any replacement brushes, Boots were brilliant in their customer service.

So, what did I think of the set? I absolutely love the packaging! It looks amazing. The set is made up of two levels with a beautiful cut out display on the top level and a pull out drawer to the second level all in the classic Soap & Glory colours.

There are seven products in total (plus the two missing brushes from my set – a powder and eyeshadow brush). I am a huge fan of soap and glory Sexy Mother Pucker lip plumping glosses so I’m really happy to have two mini versions in the top section of this set. The baby pink colour (Candy Queen) looks really pretty and the berry colour (Plumsup) is perfect for over Christmas. The Glow all Out face powder doubles up as a highlighter and is again perfect for over the festive season.

In the pull out drawer are 4 more products – Thick & Fast High Definition Collagen Coat Mascara, Supercat Carbon Black Extreme liquid eyeliner pen, Archery Brow Tint & Precision Shaping pencil (in shade Brownie Points) plus the beautiful Lid Stuff Eye Shadow palette (including shades Fair Dues, How Nude, Twinkle Bells, Mauve on Up, Iced Coffee and Plumble). These four products will really work together to make eyes looks beautiful for parties – I can’t wait to try them out!

If you weren’t fortunate enough to get the set before it sold out online, I would definitely recommend purchasing the products individually. My favourite product is the mascara as it looks amazing. You can buy it from Boots at £10.50 or when you spend at least £15 on Soap and Glory cosmetics currently, you receive a limited edition free gift – Beauty-Full House which includes the Thick & Fast mascara, Glow all Out highlighter & Sexy Mother Pucker lipgloss!
