Press Visit
Recently I attended the launch event of the brand new LUSH HairLab in Poole and I had such a fantastic time. This is one of only 3 in the whole world, with another in the UK being located in Brighton, so this was so interesting to be able to come and take a look and be shown around the venue by none other than my lovely PR contact at LUSH, Jonnie, who has been kindly gifting me products for my Gift Guides for years now! It was really lovely to meet him in person, and I got to hang out with my friend Amy too, who is looking absolutely glowing at six months pregnant!

After the launch I was most excited to be able to experience the Botanical Hair Wash firsthand, when I was invited back down for an appointment. The day of said appointment I was having the worst mental health day, I had been crying on the phone to my husband on the drive to the HairLab and I was not feeling it at all, which I think shows in my before photos and video clips. I just wanted to be at home in bed, or for somebody to give me a massive hug.

At the start of my appointment, I was introduced to the products that had been chosen for me especially, based on the current issues I had with my hair, and how I wanted my hair to look in an ideal world. I will say that I am in need of a fresh set of highlights, so I was not expecting miracles from my appointment (which was a hair wash, cut and blow dry but no colour) but I was happy to see what miracles my stylist could do.

We headed over to the Infusion Bar next, where I got hands on to make my very own infusion, which would be used during the hair wash. It was very interesting, and I loved that LUSH are encouraging this interactive element to the process for customers. Next up was the Botanical Hair Wash itself and I was really looking forward to experiencing this for myself, after seeing how cool the area looked during the launch event. It was the most comfortable hair wash I have ever had in my life and felt so cosy and therapeutic. I was given an optional weighted blanket over me, and the steam and soft music leant itself to the feeling of being in a spa setting. The hair was felt amazing, and the products really did feel incredible as they were applied and massaged into my hair.

Feeling totally zen, I was led back to my chair, where I was offered a hot drink, blanket and hot water bottle to feel nice and cosy for the haircut. I politely declined the first but happily accepted the blanket and the hot water bottle – the weather outside was disgusting, cold and heavy rain, so it was really nice to feel snug and warm inside with my lovely stylist chatting to me. Our conversation got quite deep, and it was really amazing how much my demeanour transformed during the appointment. My mood lifted and I felt so much better. We had opted to cut a fair amount off of my hair to fully freshen it up and get rid of the split ends, and I was really pleased with how my hair looked by the end, after my blow dry and having soft, full bouncy curls.

I honestly looked and felt like I was glowing by the end, and it felt like I had a therapy session rather than a hair wash and cut. I cannot recommend the experience enough, especially if you are feeling a bit dejected and sad with the gloomy weather and shorter days, it is the ultimate autumn pick me up. It would also be a lovely treat for a special occasion, or before a party or event. My blow dry lasted a full three days (throughout two parties), I was so impressed!

Thank you so much for inviting me along LUSH, it was such a transformative experience for me.
I was invited along for the purpose of this review, however all words and images are my own.
