I can’t believe I have nearly reached the age of thirty five and hadn’t had laser hair removal. Although my body hair was fairly fine, it would grow very fast and I would need to shave every couple of days, especially under my arms and around the bikini area. It felt like a never-ending cycle and it was frustrating at times. When I was offered laser hair removal with the Skin Clinic Company, I jumped at the chance as it was something I had always been intrigued by but never got round to booking for myself.
The Skin Clinic Company’s Westbourne branch is really easy for me to get to, just a few minutes drive from central Bournemouth, with plenty of on-road free parking nearby. Dr Tara and the team were so friendly when I arrived for my first appointment. I was a little nervous as I wasn’t sure what to expect but Michele put me at ease so quickly and before I knew it, I was having my first laser hair removal treatment, laid down comfortably on the bed, with Michele chatting away, a pair of black glasses to protect my eyes.
I was worried it would hurt but to be honest, it was more fear of the unknown and once it started, it was nothing really, just a tiny sensation each time the laser did its thing. It was over so quickly too, the quickest treatment I have ever had done and the most effective as well. The clinic use the Candela Gentleman Pro laser, which has an air cooling option to help ease discomfort during the treatment, as well as penetrating deeper than other lasers, making it safer with lower risks of side effects.
You will need to remove clothing (obviously) but Michele has a way of putting you completely at ease. The clinic is warm and you are up and off the chair so fast, I barely registered that I didn’t have clothes on.
I have only had one session on my armpits, bikini area and half (lower) legs so far but I can already see a massive difference in hair growth. I barely need to shave now. My armpits are so super smooth and lighter too, I can’t believe how well it has worked for something that took a couple of minutes. My bikini area is the same, touchably soft after just one treatment, and my legs definitely need less shaving than they did before!
I can’t wait to return again, and to experience being hair-free for the summer! Michele is amazing at what she does, the machine is clearly really effective too and I would 100% recommend the treatment to anybody on the fence about it. I was blown away by the results after just one treatment, and it was totally hassle-free.
