Our downstairs toilet room was one of those rooms that could have stayed as it was but I NEEDED to change it up. It was super kitsch with matching wallpaper and curtains (yes, curtains), an awful mirrored cabinet and bizarre sliding door. In short it was ugly and I wanted to put my stamp on it. When the opportunity came up to review some lovely pink paint from Earthborn paints, I jumped at the chance to force my hand and finally get the downstairs toilet room I wanted. I went for the Rosie Rosie and Cupcake shades of pink for the ceiling and walls and got going on stripping the wallpaper (thankfully surprisingly easy compared to other rooms, thankfully).
The paint arrived really quickly, I was super impressed with the fast delivery, all we had to do was wait for the plastering to be done (seriously the bane of my life, I never want to have walls plastered again). Finally it was time to paint and I was really pleased with the finish, these paints are clearly good quality and went on so nicely. I love the colours too, nice and subtle, without being too bold for a downstairs toilet room.
I was also gifted some Bon Ton Sugar tiles from Porcelain Superstore so we had a splash-back added to the sink area, which I am in love with after I saw one of these in an Airbnb I went to for a friend’s hen recently and knew I had to have one for myself.
Finally it was time to add the finishing touches to the room including the mirror and matching gold toilet roll holder and towel rail. We added three shelves above the toilet and added some pretty pastel aesthetic decor including the gorgeous dispensers from Amazon and a print from Desenio. The faux succulent was from Dunelm – I love how it all looks together.
Our toilet room renovation still has a couple of touches to add (namely the flooring, which I would love to overhaul) but for now I am so happy with the finished look can’t thank Earthborn and Porcelain Superstore enough for helping make my pink aesthetic dreams come true for this downstairs toilet room renovation on a budget.
