Press Visit
At the weekend I visited Bobby’s Bournemouth for a mini facial and makeover with up and coming makeup and skincare brand Skin in Motion. I hadn’t actually heard of the brand before, with it having only been around for a year, but Tasha, a makeup artist, who has just moved back from London, was providing the makeover at a pop up stand in Bobby’s on behalf of Skin in Motion was really good at bringing me up to speed about the brand’s ethos and what they offer, all whilst expertly removing my makeup before providing me with the best express facial I’ve ever had – honestly my skin is still glowing from it two days later!

Skin in Motion was created by London based celebrity and fashion makeup artist Gia and top marketing professional Sophia, who previously worked for 17 years at Unilever running billion pound beauty brands, so you could say they know their stuff! Sophia and Gia both want to empower women who like to be active whilst still feeling and looking great! Their focus is on promoting exercise as a form of self-care, as it is so good for your mental health, something I strongly agree with. For the first time in several years I am not on medication for my depression and anxiety and I am sure that regularly going to a spin class and doing pole fitness weekly has helped fight my usual symptoms at this time of the year.
The brand currently offers a small selection of key makeup staples for those who are in a hurry and lead an active lifestyle, just like me. Their makeup is hydrating and sweat-proof whilst being breathable and promising to stay put all day, no matter what you do, whether you are heading to the gym, to work, or out in the evening. It’s also perfect for holidays, and will remain in place even in the heat.
Their hero products are the tinted moisturiser and waterproof mascara, although I must admit, I am a big fan of their sweat proof concealer and tinted lip balm as well – Tasha multitasked with it by adding a little to my upper cheek bones for a bit of colour, which looked great too!

As well as makeup, the brand have a fantastic selection of skincare to help cleanse, hydrate and balance your post workout skin! The range includes re-usable pads to remove makeup and cleanse with, and a fantastic cooling mist, which felt incredible on my face. Their Purify no-rinse Witch Hazel Water is brilliant for sensitive skin, prone to breakouts, which is exactly what mine is currently like after a stressful month.
I had a really lovely time on Saturday and will definitely be keeping an eye on Skin in Motion, as the brand offers a great, affordable range of products for those on the go a lot. Bobby’s is also just as fantastic as I remember from their launch event, with a brilliant selection of brands both big and small, all under the same roof. We headed downstairs after my facial to pick up a birthday gift for our dog, Bella, who was also allowed in the whole store, which was lovely for her and so convenient for us!

I would definitely recommend giving Skin in Motion a go, especially if you like heading to the gym but hate going completely fresh-faced. This makeup is a light coverage to give confidence, whilst still being fully breathable, perfect for an active lifestyle.
I was invited along for a complimentary mini facial and makeover with Skin in Motion at Bobby’s Bournemouth, however all words, opinions and images are my own.Â
