Press Visit
A few weeks ago, I attended an event with the Bournemouth Bloggers at Centre VR’s central Bournemouth branch. I took along Cameron, my eldest, as my plus one, and we had an amazing evening, getting to try our hand at the virtual reality adventures, and even having a sneak peak at the company’s newest wireless tech, which should be launching this summer.
VR is not something I thought I would like, initially, as I suffer with anxiety and claustrophobia, but the team are really helpful and accommodating, and I have now been along several times to Centre VR and loved every visit. Cameron is such a big fan that he had his birthday party at the venue a couple of years ago and has now asked to go back for his birthday in September.

I love that VR isn’t just for those into gaming, and that you can find a game to enjoy, no matter what your age or your interests. I am a big baby when it comes to fairground and theme park rides, but I had such a fun time going on the simulator chair, which really made it feel like I was going up in the air on a ride – I definitely let out a few screams!

The Assassin’s Creed Beyond Medusas Gate game isn’t something I had any experience with, but I quickly picked it up and Cameron and I had a lot of fun working together to try and solve the puzzles. As you can imagine, being VR, the game was really immersive, and we soon forget we were standing in a big room with headsets on, being transported into a cave where we had to shoot arrows, climb a rock wall and sail a boat through tunnels.

The wireless headset battle game, which we were able to try out afterwards was brilliant. Again, it really felt like we were in the world we could see, rather than where we actually were, and it became second nature to move around the obstacles, that weren’t really there, whilst shooting at our opponents. It was fantastic being able to move freely, without being restricted at all by any wires, and definitely brings a whole new element to VR.

If you are interested in heading over to Centre VR to try out any of the games yourself, I have been given a code for a huge 50% off any games, which is valid this month. Simply enter BMTHBLOGGERS and the 50% discount will be applied. I would definitely recommend a visit, whether you are totally new to virtual reality, or if you have tried it before. Centre VR have so many games to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice!

I was invited along for a press visit, however all words are my own.
