A Christmas Afternoon Tea at Haskins

So, we all know by now how much I love Christmas. It is by far my favourite time of year and I am always up for a Christmas themed event so when the lovely Alice at Liz Lean PR got in touch with me and asked if the Bournemouth Bloggers would like to have our Christmas meet-up at Haskins Garden Centre I knew it would be the perfect place to get in the festive spirit.

Haskins currently have four stores in the South of England, with our local being the Ferndown branch, just a short drive away from Bournemouth and situated next to Hobbycraft (another favourite store of mine especially at this time of year). We were invited along to enjoy an afternoon tea in the Haskins restaurant and to explore their Christmas department, which is always totally magical.

We arrived at 5pm and were led to the private function room at the back of the restaurant which was decked out with a Christmas tree and the cutest place settings. With many of us in festive attire thanks to it being Christmas Jumper Day, it was definitely looking a lot like Christmas.

After having a chance to chat and catch up, we took our places and were soon presented with a selection of freshly prepared sandwiches, yummy cakes and the biggest scones I have ever seen with little pots of clotted cream and mini jars of jam. It all looked amazing and, as a group of bloggers, we were in our element snapping away to get the perfect shot before settling down in our seats to enjoy the food.

There were a few children with our group and they were catered for with mini sandwiches and a plate full of brownies and white chocolate covered shortbread and plenty of orange squash. The staff at Haskins worked really hard to make them feel welcome and even provided them with cute little bees, marshmallow lollies and mini bags of sweets, which were all a big hit amongst the children!

After we had finished eating we were gifted beautiful Poinsettias before taking a look around the Christmas department with all its Christmas trees and decorations in various themes. My favourite was the pretty pastel pink section, it looked so magical! Carly fell in love with a toy dog that sang and danced and walked him around the shop with us as we went on a hunt for the selfie seat, which we all enjoyed posing in!

We really enjoyed our visit to Haskins Garden Centre in Ferndown. Thank you to Liz Lean PR for organising!
