This week the Bournemouth Bloggers were invited along to the Bournemouth branch of Brewhouse & Kitchen to try out the new season’s menu. I hadn’t actually been to Brewhouse & Kitchen before as last time I was invited along I wasn’t able to go and Ed went in my place. He had told me it was a nice venue and that the food was good so I was looking forward to the visit.
We arrived and were shown to a table on the first floor of the building, away from the hustle and bustle of the bar area downstairs and prosecco was poured alongside a selection of the beers Brewhouse are known for.
We were really spoilt when it came to the food, with full size samples of a huge selection of starters from the new menu being shared between our table.
It was a little hard to divide out some of the dishes (the soup for example) but it was nice to quite literally break bread with the rest of the bloggers and we soon found our own favourite dishes. I loved the soup, which was Spiced Lentil. It reminded me of a curry and was super tasty. I also loved the mini bruschetta with heritage tomato and basil pesto, totally moreish.
After the starters had been cleared away we were treated to lots of mains including legend craft lager battered cod and chips, a delicious Memphis BBQ burger and fries, a full rack of barbecue ribs and several vegetarian options. There was also a lamb, pea and mint pie with mash, which was my firm favourite. By the time we had worked our way through all of that, with our glasses being topped up as we went, we were feeling pretty stuffed.
We took a little breather to explore the rest of the venue including the impressive outside courtyard area, which has several beach house huts that you are able to sit in to enjoy your drinks. Although I would imagine these would be hugely popular in the summer when it’s hot, they also look adorable on an autumn evening and would be perfect for gathering for drinks with friends.
Heading back inside, we returned to our table to share one of the tempting desserts. It was a chocolate orange torte and it was incredible. I could have easily eaten the whole thing myself, my tummy was full of food but my dessert stomach could have handled it…
The new menu at Brewhouse & Kitchen has something for everything with traditional favourites mixed in with more adventurous dishes, all sure to be well received when coming in from the cold this autumn.
The Bournemouth Bloggers were invited along to Brewhouse & Kitchen to sample the new seasonal menu, however there was no obligation to post about the experience and all words and images are my own unless stated.
