I don’t usually write ‘favourites’ posts as I tend to just focus on more in-depth reviews, but with everything that’s gone on this month, getting married and then going straight into a brand new routine with Ed’s new job and the kids starting at school, it’s been fairly hectic and I’ve not found the time to sit down and write reviews of anything other than the Estée Lauder foundation.
I love a good sheet mask – they are so much less messy than other kinds and I do love scaring Ed and the kids when they see me wearing one! I hadn’t heard of this company before but they were half the price of the Garnier ones I usually go for in Boots, and I thought it was worth a shot. At £1.50, it’s one of the cheapest sheet masks I’ve used but the quality is just as good as the more expensive versions in my opinion.
The mask was less fiddly than the Garnier one, although the lack of a peel off layer did make me worry I was putting it on back to front (I don’t think I was). The mask fit my face quite well, which isn’t always the case, and afterwards my skin felt nice and soft and supple. I will definitely buy this again, and give the cucumber version a try too.
Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming
This was my wedding day perfume and I’m generally keeping it for ‘best’. Although mainly for special occasions, I wore this on our recent date night to mark our first date as a married couple and it is such a lovely scent. It lasts really well too!
Nails Inc Express Nail Polish Remover Pot with Collagen
I got this over summer but didn’t use it much until this month and I’m so impressed! Taking off nail polish can be messy and fiddly but using this pot makes everything so much easier. You just put your nails in one by one, twist them around a bit and the polish is gone.
Worth mentioning that it doesn’t work as well on glittery polishes, and obviously as it’s a relatively small pot, it’s not possible to use for removing polish from toenails (boo), but I will definitely be repurchasing as it cuts removal time right down and the pot is handy to take with you when travelling.
Eco Tools Makeup Brushes
I am a huge fan of Eco Tools and these brushes are not only totally cute, being a handy travel size, they are also a beautiful pinky colour and look totally adorable in my makeup bag. The main thing I love about these brushes is how soft they are on my skin. I never feel like they drag and even after a lot of use they feel soft to the touch once washed.
My Not So Perfect Life by Sophie Kinsella
Ok, so it’s not technically beauty but this book is worth a mention as it’s such an easy and enjoyable read and is the perfect accompaniment to a nice hot bubble bath. I’ve been making more of an effort to switch off and read books lately and this has been one of my favourites – definitely worth a read!
