Although my hair is naturally blonde, it is a dark blonde and I have been having my hair coloured and highlighted since I was a teenager. Having highlights has become second nature, and I don’t think I will stop anytime soon but I am keen to find products which help to protect my hair and enhance the colour so that it looks good between visits to the salon, especially as I have bleach put on my hair and this causes hair to be more prone to breakage and split ends.
I have been sent the Philip Kingsley Pure Blonde range of products and have been trying them out to see how they help with my highlighted hair and so far I have been really impressed. The brightening daily shampoo has a pleasant scent and foams up nicely, with a little going a long way, as I have found with most of the Philip Kingsley products I have tried so far.
The Colour-Correcting weekly shampoo is darker in colour and is to be used alongside the daily shampoo as a once a week treatment to neutralise brassiness.
The Colour-Correcting weekly mask has fast become a regular treat for my hair. I tend to use it on a Sunday when I can spend time properly pampering myself and taking time but I like that this mask only needs to stay on for a few minutes (it can stay on longer for hair that is dyed rather than highlighted with bleach, or naturally blonde hair).
The mask aims to correct yellow tones, to make the hair look freshly coloured. Although my roots are beginning to show, the rest of my hair looks much better than it usually does at this stage and I am definitely a fan of the Pure Blonde range and will continue to use it alongside my usual daily conditioner.
My hair feels strong, smooth and silky and I have had compliments on my hair colour too. I am a big fan of the Elasticizer from Philip Kingsley and, using this alongside the rest of the products from this range has really improved my hair.
