Style – Getting out of My Mum Style Rut

So, the powers that be aka the good old twitter poll, told me that you lovely lot would appreciate a new feature on the blog documenting my aim to wear less jeans and striped tees and more colourful, dare I say stylish, clothing.

I’m not exactly over the hill at 28 years old, but now I’m a mum of three I’ve kind of slipped into a depressing cycle of outfits which all merge into one and I rarely look ‘put together’ like other bloggers my age.

I figured the summer was as good a time as any to ‘change things up’ a little and I used my birthday money to add a few bits to my wardrobe to help the cause.

First up is this outfit, which I have so far worn a few times including for a family dinner and pizza and Prosecco night with the girls plus to a press launch with Kirsty last night.

I love that it’s actually pretty easy to pull together but still looks dressed up. I also love that it’s feeding friendly for Benjamin (although as it turns out, not so feeding friendly for me when I’ve had a few glasses of Prosecco, luckily the pizza sauce stains came out!).

The best bit? It all came from Primark and cost around £25 in total – gotta love a bargain!

I can see myself wearing this to a wedding, if I were invited to one, and it’ll be definitely coming along to Spain with me next week for dinner and cocktails as the sun goes down.
