Cameron and Carly are both at the stage where they are totally obsessed with their cuddly toys. Carly especially uses hers for comfort, and both will head to bed with an array of cute and furry creatures every night.
When Laura, creator of Holibob bears, offered to send a couple for the kids to review I knew they would love them immediately. The bears are super soft and cuddly, come in two different shades of brown (which, when you have more than one child, is a godsend as they didn’t have to fight over whose was whose when they’d put them down) and are the perfect size to carry along with you on your adventures.
The idea for the bears came to Laura, a fellow mum of three, after constantly being asked what the plans were for the day during school holidays by her children. Figuring, correctly, that other parents were going through the same experience, Laura set about creating the fun and friendly Holibob bear.
What makes the bears extra special is that they come complete with handy instructions, cards and accessories to help make the holidays a little more exciting for young children, and indeed help provide ideas for parents at a loss for things to do with their little ones.
In the evening once the children are asleep, in the same vain as the popular elf on a shelf, you simply slot an activity theme card corresponding to the next day’s plans in the handy luggage bag ready for the big reveal in the morning. You can also write down the activity itself on the mini chalkboard (optional extra included in the deluxe set or available separately for £2.49).
The excitement on their faces is brilliant, and I must admit, the bears did encourage me to get out and about a bit more than I would have done otherwise over the Easter break. There are also golden and choice cards in the pack, which can be used as an incentive for children who are working on their behaviour, or just as a lovely treat when they’ve been extra good.
The children named their bears as soon as they received them, and I’m sure Bertie and Bob have had a lovely time over Easter travelling up north to County Durham to visit family, taking a trip to a theme park, heading off to the park to play on the swings and going to the cinema to see Beauty and the Beast.
I know the children will also love to bring the bears along on their special holiday to Spain next month, where lucky Bertie and Bob will get to go up in the air on an aeroplane!
I can’t recommend the bears enough if you have children like mine who love to use their imagination and create stories with their toys. They absolutely adored the replica ‘pawsports’ for the bears, and Cameron used the journey book (available in the deluxe set) as a diary, jotting down his adventures at the end of each day.
Holibob bears are available to purchase from the very fun interactive website! It also features some additional print off activities for the children and tips and tricks for parents. The bears are priced from a reasonable £19.99 (for the standard set). Grab a bargain, order in time for the next school holiday and get 15% off your order with code “evenangelsfall15” (valid on all products on the site until Friday 19th May).
We were kindly sent two Holibob bear deluxe sets for the purpose of review, however all views, photos and opinions are our own.
