Beauty – Christmas Party Makeup Look

I have already been to one Christmas party this year and I actually loved how my makeup looked for it. So in advance of my second Christmas party on Saturday I thought I would go over my festive party season makeup for anyone else looking for some inspiration.

My Primer is L’Oréal Infallible Mattifying base, which goes on really smoothly and leaves a soft canvas for the rest of the makeup. I’ve been using the Maybelleine Dream Velvet foundation now for a few weeks since switching from No7 and I love it. It leaves a really matte finish but feels soft to the touch. My skin looks fairly flawless when I’m wearing it.

I add just a dash of my Maybelleine Dream Touch blush to the apples of my cheeks before sweeping on The Body Shop’s bronzer for a more dramatic look, perfect for party season.

Onto the eyes, I line them with Collection’s intense colour kohl liner in Black Magic and add an electric blue liner as well to make my blue eyes pop.

I use my trusty urban decay naked 2 palette in shades Bootycall and Suspect for the perfect smokey eye with just a hint of glitter. I finish with my Bourjois Push up Volume mascara, which brings out my lashes in a couple of coats.

Finishing with lips, I have recently bought a couple of new shades of Rimmel’s Lasting Finish lipsticks and for everyday I’ve been using shade Heather Shimmer but for this party look I prefer A Drop of Sherry (love the name!), as it’s actually the perfect subtle red shade and looks amazing without being too much. It also doesn’t make me look like I’ve been guzzling red wine when it comes off either, which is something I’ve found all too often when testing red lipsticks.

With just a final sweep of Rimmel’s Oh my Gloss lipgloss in shade Snog, I’m ready to party! The best part of this makeup look? I can take the look from Day to night fairly easily just by adding the lipstick, eyeshadow and blue liner to existing daytime makeup.

Make sure you check out my get ready with me video as part of vlogmas on Saturday to see my party makeup in action…

What products do you use for your perfect Christmas party look?

  1. Gorgeous! My sister and Mum had been telling me about Dream Matte Mousse for years when I finally tried it recently. It looks so good for the price, but even the lightest shade I could find was slightly orangey on me. I don’t know if I need to try a colour correcting primer or what :/

I’m loving Revlon colourstay concealer atm. Such good value!
