It’s a sensory feast, filled with a huge array of stalls selling all kinds of handmade Moroccan goods.Picture rugs, lamps and ceramics, all stacked high, as you work around the souks, otherwise known as stalls. Don’t forget the delicious array of street food you can try.
As the city’s main gathering spot, it’s no wonder there’s so much going on here. It symbolises the old quarter of Marrakech and feels as though you’ve stepped back in time. Today, it’s considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Venice Carnival, Italy
Venice is one of Italy’s crowning jewels. This floating city is known for its never-ending canal network and gondolas, yet there’s so much more to experience when you time your visit with its annual carnival.
Venice Carnival generally takes place in February. Characterised by lavish costumes and traditional Venetian masks, it will make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time.
You can immerse yourself in Renaissance-era traditions and watch grand parades work their way through the city’sbeautiful streets. There’s a reason it’s become one of the region’s most exciting tourist attractions since the 18th century.
