Christmas is fast approaching and, for me, it just doesn’t feel like Christmas without a real Christmas tree to decorate and admire in your front room. As we are spending Christmas Day with my mum and nan again this year, I was pleased to be contacted by Pines and Needles to be offered a Christmas tree delivery for their house. I have previously collaborated with the company, who offer both pop-up shops across London and the UK as well as hassle free delivery, which is brilliant for my mum and nan who don’t have the capacity to go out hunting for trees themselves.
Pines and Needles have a selection of real trees in various sizes. The one we have is a 7ft Nordman Fir Christmas tree with a water-holding stand. It is a lot wider than we anticipated, but I love how it looks in their living room. It’s certainly a conversation piece for our pre-christmas gatherings round their house and it transforms the room at this magical time of year – the perfect backdrop for all those festive films and copious mince pies.
The delivery was hassle free. We were provided with a day and a timeframe and it came in good time. The only issue we had was that the tree was a little too heavy for the stand’s bolts so we needed to drill holes into the trunk to secure it, which took a little time to make sure it wasn’t leaning over to one side. I am not sure if this was an issue with the stand, or if we just had a particularly heavy tree but regardless, it looks lovely now it is up and in position in the lounge.
I would definitely recommend taking a look at the Pines and Needles website, if you haven’t got your real tree just yet. They are affordable and offer a fantastic alternative to Christmas tree farms if you don’t fancy heading out into the cold.
