Gifted Experience
One of my goals for 2023 is to put in the work to make myself feel like the best version of me. It’s not about fad diets or pushing myself to excess in the gym, but about making healthier choices and cutting down on what hurts my body and mind, whilst moving as much as possible. I made the effort in 2022 to re-join the gym and prioritise spin classes, but I wasn’t focussed on a specific goal, and I felt like whatever I did, I couldn’t shift my ‘mum tum’, courtesy of having three children in my twenties. By chance, I saw an advert for Beauty Sculpting Room, an aesthetics clinic based in Poole, and I spoke to Stacey just before Christmas to discuss how they could help me achieve my goals, alongside my current healthier eating and exercise plan.
In addition to aesthetics and fitness, I’ve started leaning into the idea of everyday wellness support through more accessible, routine services. A great example is your local pharmacy, which often offers far more than just prescriptions. From health checks and expert guidance on over-the-counter products to personalised advice about supplements or minor symptoms, a reliable pharmacy can be a valuable part of your overall wellness journey. It’s the kind of resource we often overlook until we need it, but I’ve come to appreciate how it bridges the gap between specialist appointments and everyday health needs. If you’re looking to build lasting habits this year, don’t underestimate the importance of small, consistent help along the way.

Stacey listened to what I wanted to achieve, had a look at my stomach, and we decided to start with cavitation, before moving on to some skin tightening. These treatments are non-invasive, non-surgical, and don’t require any down-time, which is perfect for a busy working mum of three. I was a little nervous before my first appointment, as I hadn’t really heard much about ultrasonic cavitation beforehand and wasn’t sure what to expect, but Stacey and Lisa, my therapist, really put me at ease when I arrived. I had a weigh-in first, which was a little nerve-wracking as I usually weigh myself totally nude, so I was heavier than I am used to, but it is so important to see what I started out as, to see how much the treatments have worked for me. I was also measured around my abdomen, and these measurements were recorded for future reference alongside photos of my stomach before treatment.
With the admin side of things done, it was time for me to lie down on the bed and lift up my top to allow Lisa access to my stomach. I was asked to remove my belly bar, and then the gel was put on my belly and Lisa moved the ultrasound wand over my stomach, moving it over and around the area constantly for the next half hour or so. There was a high pitched noise, like a ringing, coming from the machine, which was a bit grating, but I got used to it fairly quickly and Lisa was so lovely, chatting away about anything and everything whilst moving the wand on my belly. It was not uncomfortable, it felt exactly like it did when I had the scans done when I was pregnant, and afterwards the jelly was removed with a tissue and I was good to stand up and have my measurements re-done.

The cavitation treatment can show results straight away, and I did feel like my stomach looked a little less bloated. The measurements were taken at three levels around my belly and one of these had decreased already, with the others staying the same for the time being. I am due to have six of the treatments in total, twice a week for the next few weeks, and I am excited to see what the results will be like by the end. Now I know what to expect I am not worried at all, it was a really easy process and involved no pain. I was asked to drink two-litres of water following the treatment, as the fat leaves your body through your urine, so you need to pass this out in the forty-eight hours following your appointment. This was probably the worst part for me as I do not usually drink anywhere near enough water and I was heading to the toilet constantly over the rest of the day, as I wasn’t used to drinking so much.
I have my next appointment during the week, so I will keep you updated on the process and my results a little further down the line! If you are looking for a non-invasive alternative to surgery to help with fat loss, this is definitely an option, and something I would recommend looking into. Stacey and her team really know what they are doing, and you’ll be in safe hands at Beauty Sculpting Room in Poole.

I have been provided with the treatments mentioned in this post, for the purpose of review, however all words are my own.
