I’m not going to lie, autumn is always a bit bittersweet for me, as I suffer with Seasonal Affective Disorder (fun fact, it’s shortened to SAD, which is what it makes me a lot of the time during the colder months). I try and make sure I get outside in the fresh air and get some exercise, even if only for a short time, as it really helps with my mental health. Finding the perfect autumn shoes for those walks when the weather is a little temperamental can be a bit of a minefield, but luckily Loom Footwear have created casual shoes for men and women, which can stand up against the elements.
What makes Loom Footwear so special? For a start, waterproof shoes are incredible when you are a busy mum, who is in and out of the car on a day to day basis. Since starting my new full time job, I drop the children to childcare and pick them back up, as well as driving into the office, and walking to the local shops on my lunch break. I need a shoe that can cope with what my busy lifestyle throws at it. The moisture-wicking technology of Loom’s shoes makes them able to withstand even the soggiest of commutes (seriously, in testing people have actually swum whilst wearing them, and they have survived the test, keeping feet dry when fully submerged).

I love that Loom shoes come in a choice of black or white – I think the black is ever so slightly more stylish, and wouldn’t look out of place at a casual event, as well as for pounding the pavements. The shoes are cushioned, promising comfort, no matter how far you walk. They are also sweat-proof and anti-odour, which is perfect if you tend to get a bit hot and bothered on longer walks.
Loom shoes aren’t just great for walking, you can also run in them, their soles were developed by podiatrists, and the shoes protect joints from shock.

If you are conscious about the environment, and try to buy sustainable products, you will also appreciate that Loom Footwear are made from cruelty free materials. Very topical at the moment, the average pair of shoes needs huge amounts of fossil fuels, gallons of water, and chemicals that pollute the area around them but Loom Footwear work hard to reduce each pair of their shoe’s carbon footprint by over 500%.

If you’re looking for the perfect autumn shoe, that’s waterproof and suitable for walking, hiking and running, Loom Footwear have you covered – check out their website www.loomfootwear.com for further information.
