Press Visit

A couple of weeks ago, I went along to Poole Quay to board the Harbour Lights Cruise with City Cruises Poole. Having previously experienced other trips with them, I knew it would be good, but I was blown away by the beautiful sunset as we cruised around the picturesque Poole harbour.

The boat left the quay at 7.30pm, coming back in for 9pm. For the 90 minute duration, we were treated to spectacular views of the harbour, Brownsea Island, Sandbanks and Studland Bay, with commentary from the captain explaining what we could see, with little facts about the local area. We even got to see Tom Cruise’s luxury yacht, which was moored in the harbour at the time, and a seal, which was just chilling in the shallows.

There is a bar on board, serving snacks, hot, cold and alcoholic drinks, and an inside cabin, if it is getting a little chilly or you just fancy sitting inside. Up on the deck, there was plenty of space for those on board to comfortably sit and look out to sea. It can get a little cold out at sea as the sun goes down, even on a warm day, so I would advise taking along a jumper or blanket to keep you warm.

Take along your camera as well, as the views really are beautiful as the sun begins to set across the harbour. It was so lovely to witness the sunset from a different vantage point, and I really enjoyed the experience.

Tickets for the Harbour Lights cruise are available from the City Cruises website and are reasonably priced at £11 for adults, £7 for children, with under 5’s free. You can even bring along your dog, if you want to, at a £2 supplement.

I would recommend the Harbour Lights Cruise if you are looking for something to do with the family, a fun alternative date night activity, or if you are visiting the area on holiday and want to explore and find out a little more.

I was invited along for the purpose of this post, however all words and images are my own.
