With a heatwave upon us here in the UK, summer is well and truly upon us and, with the new season, there comes the pitfalls of knowing how to style your summer wardrobe. If you are plus size, and looking to freshen your fashion up this summer, these are some summer style tips for plus size fashion, that you won’t want to miss.
Don’t Shy Away from Fitted Pieces to Accentuate your Curves

It may be tempting, if you are self conscious about areas of your body, to opt for loose, floaty materials. Don’t be afraid to go for fitted styles as these can help draw attention to your curves, and deflect away from areas that you are not as confident about. Fitted doesn’t need to equal uncomfortable either, you can go for a nice pair of cropped, fitted trousers or shorts, with a light fabric on top, or a fitted dress with a loose wrap for summer evenings.
Highlight Your Favourite Features
Really love your legs? Always get compliments on your hourglass figure? Highlight these parts of your body with eye catching pops of colour or a well placed accessory to bring attention to the areas you are confident about. Feeling confident will make you smile, and nothing is better to wear than your own natural smile!
Use Layers
Rather than covering yourself up with as much material as possible, use layers in your summer styling and add and take away clothing throughout the day, and into the evening. You can find women’s wholesale clothing online as a starting point for building up your summer wardrobe staples. A simple t-shirt dress can be jazzed up with a longline cardigan, chunky beads, a funky bag and some statement sandals – pulling the outfit together.
Go Bright and Bold

Don’t stick to dark colours, add pops of colour and bright accessories to really show off your personality and individual style. Add a bright belt to a navy dress or a splash of colour to an otherwise plain outfit, if you aren’t sure about going fully bright!
Stick to Small Prints
Smaller prints tend to be more flattering, think ditsy print florals, small polka dots and leopard print spots. Narrow, horizontal stripes can make you look taller, and can elongate your figure, giving a flattering finish.
Accessorise, Accessorise, Accessorise
Accessories are big this summer, and you can use them to show off your own personal flair for style. Think chunky rings, statement bags, a soft scarf and bold earrings – don’t be afraid to clash your colours, and have fun with it!
The best advice when it comes to styling your plus size summer wardrobe, however, is to choose pieces that make you feel happy, confident and comfortable as this is what will make you shine! Don’t be afraid to experiment, but tried and tested pieces are also your friend, especially when it comes to the summer months where the heat can make wearing any clothes unbearable and all you want to do is go jump in that pool! You can get good deals on wholesale clothing, to cut the cost of adding to your summer wardrobe.
