Now that the festive period is over, it’s time to look ahead to the next big event on the calendar. Valentine’s Day may be a little different this year, with England in the midst of another lockdown, but it doesn’t mean you can’t celebrate the date with a loved one, even if you aren’t together in person. If you’ve been together a long time, why not mark the occasion by taking it back to the start and playing some retro classics you enjoyed when you first got together? Maybe there was a game you initially bonded over – Valentine’s is the perfect excuse to get nostalgic and play some good old fashioned games together.

Want something a little more thrilling? You can play online escape room games, which let you work together to uncover the clues that will set you free. As these games are online, you can play at a distance, if you can’t be together, making them the perfect Valentine’s Day date activity, whatever your situation.

Whether you met online or at a gamer meet, if you are spending this Valentine’s apart and missing being able to interact in real life with your partner, if you have virtual reality equipment, you can feel together even whilst apart with virtual reality gaming.

Use that one exercise a day allowance wisely and head out for a moonlit Pokemon hunt. Using your smartphones to see what you can catch, you can keep socially distanced, if you aren’t in the same household, whilst doing something you both enjoy.
There’s no escaping the fact that this Valentine’s Day will be different than in previous years, however, just because we are currently in a lockdown, it doesn’t mean you cannot still celebrate your relationship in a way that is special to you both. These fun gaming date ideas can be enjoyed together or apart, to keep up the romance, even whilst socially distanced.
