Press Experience

A couple of weeks ago, just before the second lockdown began, Ed and I took the kids and my mum along to Exbury Gardens in Hampshire. The rest of us had been previously, in the Summer, but it was Ed’s first visit.

As it was Halloween weekend, there was a special trail on for the children, which they absolutely loved, and I was impressed with the amount of thought and effort that had gone into the themed trail through one of the gardens.

Unfortunately, with it being a busy time of the year, the steam train had been booked up in advance, so we weren’t able to go on a ride on it this time round, but the rest of the gardens were open, as well as the cafe and food vans serving hot and cold snacks, with added spooky decorations.

I really enjoyed seeing the difference in the gardens between our visits, as the leaves had turned beautiful colours and been steadily falling since the start of autumn. I suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder, which is worse at this time of the year, and I find getting outside in nature and having some fresh air can really help my mental health, so our visit came at a really good time, especially with the lockdown about to start.

The children love getting out and exploring, so Exbury is a fantastic place to visit for our family, not to far away from home. I’m looking forward to getting back again as soon as possible. If you are local, or visiting the area in future, make sure you check out Exbury Gardens and Steam Railway. It’s a great day out, whatever the weather, whatever the season.

We were invited along to Exbury Gardens, however all words and images are my own.
