At the end of June, I had an online skincare consultation with the lovely Charlotte at Lush Bournemouth. With restrictions in place, Lush have got creative with their services and have taken their consultations online, with great success – I really enjoyed my session with Charlotte, despite usually being really awkward on the phone and voice calls. Charlotte put me at ease, whilst also finding the products that suited my skin type and what I was looking for results wise. I have spoken at length about the consultation in another post, so I won’t go into it again now, but I would highly recommend, if you are unsure which products to go for, or if you have a specific skincare issue you’d like to discuss.
Charlotte kindly gifted me the products that she recommend to me during the consultation, and I have been using these in a new regime morning and night for the past five weeks, and wanted to share with you my thoughts on the products, many of which I will be repurchasing, as they are incredible! I hadn’t really tried many lush products, other than their range of bath bombs, before my skincare consultation, so it was all quite new to me, to use fresh, natural products on my face.
I have eczema, mainly on my arms, but in patches on my face and neck as well, which I mentioned to Charlotte, as it does mean that I react to some products, and they can cause my skin to become red and sore. I can confirm that none of the products I have been using have had any reaction to my skin, and it has felt amazing every morning and evening, so I am definitely a total convert!
This is one of my favourites. I have not been using an exfoliator, finding a lot of them too harsh on my sensitive skin, so it has been a gamechanger to find something which not only doesn’t irritate my skin, but leaves it feeling nourished. I love the fresh scent this has, and how fresh my face feels after using it. I tend to use the product on my cheeks, nose and chin, avoiding the forehead – I am not sure why, it is just how I have been applying it, and I have definitely noticed my skin has been clearer, having suffered with some breakouts recently.
This is the product which I have noticed running out the fastest, which is a shame, as I don’t feel I am using that much at a time. I use this after exfoliating, as a second cleanse (I have still been taking my makeup off initially with the Garnier Miscellar Water, as I swear by it). I dry my face first, then apply this creamy cleanser, removing it with a hot cloth, which leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean. I am a big fan!
Eau Roma Water
I love the handy spray bottle this comes in. It is so easy to have a quick spritz, after I come out of the bathroom, before I apply my face cream. I tend to leave it a few minutes so it sinks in, as it can feel a little wet straight after I have sprayed it, but I really like how fresh and hydrated it makes my skin feel. I have used it during the day, when my skin has started to feel tight and dry, and it is great as a quick pick me up. I will be getting another once this one is gone.
I am obsessed with this face cream, and will 100% be repurchasing when it runs out. I love everything about it – the fresh citrus scent (which Ed and Benjamin have both said they love to), the way my skin drinks it up, and the fact that you only need a small amount, making it value for money. It makes my skin feel soft, supple and hydrated, without any irritation. It is my dream product!
Enchanted Eye Cream
I have been awful with eye cream and hadn’t used one up until recently – I know, I know, it is so important to use them, especially now I am in my thirties. I like that a little goes a really long way with this product. You only need a tiny amount, which you then dab under your eye area, avoiding rubbing it in as it can damage the delicate skin in this area. The only issue I have is that sometimes a bit more product than I need comes out when using the pump, which can be a waste.
Mask of Magnaminty
I was used to using sheet masks once a week, so I must admit, it was a little odd to switch to a natural face mask, using it once every few days as an extra skincare boost. This feels like it is really doing some good, drawing out impurities as it gently dries on your skin. It is not the most aesthetically pleasing mask, but then it doesn’t need to be if it is good for you! I don’t think I will necessarily repurchase this specific mask, but I am definitely open to trying out more fresh face masks from Lush now.
